🇻🇳 Vietnam Entry Checklist - August 2026

Coming to Vietnam soon? Here’s a simple checklist to help you get prepared before your trip.

✅ Passport
Make sure your passport meets the validity requirements for your type of entry. If you’re entering under Vietnam’s unilateral visa exemption, your passport must have at least 6 months remaining.

✅ Visa or visa exemption
Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality and how long you plan to stay. Vietnam offers visa exemptions to eligible nationalities, while travelers who need a visa can apply for an e-visa.

Vietnam’s e-visa allows stays of up to 90 days and can be issued for single or multiple entry.

💰 Single entry: US$25
💰 Multiple entry: US$50
⏱ Processing: typically 3 working days

We recommend applying early instead of leaving it until the last minute.

📱 Pre-Arrival Information
Vietnam Immigration has an official online Pre-Arrival Information Submission for Visitors portal. Complete any required information before your trip and keep a screenshot or copy of your confirmation handy.

🏨 Accommodation details
Keep the name and address of where you’re staying available, as you may need this information for your visa or immigration paperwork.

✈️ Onward/return travel
It’s a good idea to have your return or onward travel details ready, as your airline or immigration authorities may ask for them depending on your circumstances.

📄 E-visa traveler:
Print a copy of your approved e-visa before traveling and keep another copy saved on your phone.
