At Pashupatinath Temple today. A sacred place dating back to the 5th century, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Pashupati, “Lord of All Living Beings.”

Along the Bagmati River, you feel the full cycle of life here; fire, prayer, ash, water, bells, etc.

Said a few quiet prayers for the deceased, grieving families, strength, protection, and gratitude. For family. For clarity. For the road ahead.

Kathmandu has a way of keeping things real. 🙏

Although I descended today from Everest Base Camp at 5,364m (17,598 ft) — and Gorakshep (5,190m, –25°C at sunrise) down to Pangboche at 3,985m… the photos are from yesterday and this morning, far above where I rest tonight on a snowy cliff.
From Everest Base Camp beneath Mount Everest to the quiet descent through the Khumbu, 11 hours on the trail today.
Tomorrow: 12 hours to Lukla. Then flight to Kathmandu 🇳🇵 on the 26th.
This journey has been astronomical, surreal, and deeply peaceful. Thank you, Nepal 🙏💖

I captured ~4 hours of GoPro footage: geology of the rising Himalaya, village life, yak logistics, anthropology, cuisine, mapping, narration.
Full documentary release: June 2026.

Feels like Stairway to Heaven!

Starting in Dingboche in the first photo -- 4,410 m.
Air thinning, mountains widening.
Up toward Thokla Pass — 4,830 m.

The Himalayan staircase to Sagarmatha turns to endless stone steps… slow, steady, breath by breath.

Between Thokla and Lobuche — 4,910 m.
Memorials for the mountaineers who never came down 🙏

Ama Dablam rising like a blade behind us piercing the morning sunrise.

Himalayan turquoise, stone of sky, stone of earth.

From Tengboche Monastery, the clouds parted and Mount Everest along with Lhotse revealed themselves.

Friend beside me. Brotherhood. Altitude. Silence.
Tomorrow -- Everest Base Camp ( EBC ) and Gorakshep.

One step higher and ascending!

Above Namche Bazar this morning.
Ascended 900 meters yesterday.
–9°C at dawn.

Now moving toward Tengboche at 4,200m above sea level.

For centuries Namche Bazar was the Khumbu’s high-altitude trading hub, transporting salt and wool caravans crossing from Tibet over Nangpa La, exchanging goods long before expedition routes and summit dreams. An artery of the ancient Silk Road known as the Tibetan Silk Road.

Today the loads are different.
But it’s still a crossroads.

Happy Lunar New Year 2026!
February 17th, 2026;
Year of the Fire Horse 🐴🔥.

Welcoming this New Moon from Solukhumbu, Nepal. Steadily ascending towards the open sky, mountains, and a quiet reminder of how small we are in something beautifully precise.

The New Moon marks the moment the Moon aligns between the Earth and Sun, beginning a fresh lunar cycle. A real, measurable reset in motion, gravity, orbit, light returning. I love that this celebration is rooted in something both cultural and cosmic. It’s tradition guided by astronomy.
The Fire Horse symbolizes energy, courage, and forward movement. For me, this year feels like steady momentum, bold steps, but grounded.

To my family and friends, near and far, thank you for your love, support, and the unseen ways you strengthen me. I carry you with me no matter which way the wind blows.

Wishing everyone strong health, real joy, earned success, and deep peace in 2026. May this new cycle bring clarity, discipline, and gratitude.
Happy Lunar New Year 🌕🐴🙏

Up at Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple. Holding it down over the Kathmandu Valley since the 5th century. One of the valley’s sacred UNESCO spots, and you can feel it.

I tried having a calm, diplomatic conversation with a rhesus macaque 🐒.
He wasn’t in the mood.
Next thing I know, he’s airborne.
One quick scratch, that’s on me. Respect the locals.

Second shot: monkey posted up on ancient stone like he owns the place (he does), Kathmandu Valley sprawling out behind, and an eagle cutting across the sky above the Buddha stupa.

“Swayambhu” means Self-Arisen. Self-Existent.
Legend says this whole hill rose from a lotus flower when the valley was still a lake with the stupa emerging on its own, no hands, no builders. Just… appearing.

Sacred, chaotic, timeless.

Kathmandu Valley 🇳🇵 at sunset.
Everest stands only 100 km away.

Fifty-five million years ago, India collided with Eurasia, driving the Himalayas toward the heavens.
This valley was once a vast lake, held in a cradle of rising stone.
Then, in the late Pleistocene, the waters broke through Chobar Gorge and drained away, leaving fertile earth where a civilization would rise.

Mountains from collision.
A valley from release.
Humanity from the sediment of deep time.
The light fades.
The story beneath it does not.
