π‘ͺ𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒏𝒖𝒕-𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 π‘³π’‚π’–π’ˆπ’‰π’Šπ’π’ˆπ’•π’‰π’“π’–π’”π’‰ (πΌπ‘Žπ‘›π‘‘β„Žπ‘œπ‘π‘–π‘›π‘π‘™π‘Ž π‘˜π‘œπ‘›π‘˜π‘Žπ‘˜π‘–π‘›β„Žπ‘’π‘›π‘ π‘–π‘ ) is one of the rarest birds in the world. Discovered only in 2001, it is found exclusively in a small area of montane forest in Central Vietnam.

Its population is extremely small and declining due to habitat loss, making it Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.

Our 15-day trip to South & Central Vietnam with birders from Spain just ended.

This trip included Primate Photography, Birdwatching, and Photography. We encountered most of the important target species for the trip with 248 species (11 are sensitive species). There are 5 endemic species, 4 pitta species, many other near-endemic and endemic sub-species.
