🚨 Important Update for Anyone Traveling or Living in Vietnam 🇻🇳

Starting July 1, 2026, Vietnam requires all overnight stays to be reported to the local authorities.

Here's what travelers should know:

✅ Who must register?
Hotels, homestays, Airbnb hosts, landlords, and anyone hosting an overnight guest are responsible for registering the guest's temporary residence.

✅ This includes staying overnight at:
• Hotels & Resorts
• Homestays
• Airbnb
• Private apartments
• A friend's or family member's home
• Your boyfriend's or girlfriend's house

📝 Information required for the registration:
• Full name
• Date of birth
• Passport number (or Vietnamese ID number)
• Reason for staying
• Length of stay
• Full address where you are staying

⏰ Registration deadline
• Arrive before 11:00 PM: Your stay must be registered before 11:00 PM on the same day.
• Arrive after 11:00 PM: Your stay must be registered before 8:00 AM the following morning.

🏨 Changing accommodations?
Every time you move to a new hotel, Airbnb, apartment, or private home, your new host must register your stay again.

⚠️ Don't assume Airbnb does it automatically.
Always ask your host to confirm that your temporary residence has been registered.

Failure to register may result in administrative fines and could create complications with future visa, immigration, or residency procedures.

💡 Travel Tip
When checking in, simply ask:

"Has my temporary residence been registered?"

It only takes a minute to confirm and could save you a lot of trouble later.

📌 Save this post for your next trip to Vietnam and share it with anyone planning to visit!

🇻🇳 Planning your first trip to Vietnam in 2026? Read this before you go!

Vietnam is one of the most beautiful and exciting countries to explore, but first-time visitors often make avoidable mistakes that can cost them time, money, and unforgettable experiences.

To help you travel smarter, we've put together 15 common travel mistakes to avoid in Vietnam based on years of helping travelers discover the country like locals.

✈️ 15 Common Travel Mistakes to Avoid in Vietnam

1️⃣ Assuming Vietnam is cheap everywhere
2️⃣ Not understanding Vietnam's regional differences
3️⃣ Ignoring visa requirements until the last minute
4️⃣ Exchanging too much cash at the airport
5️⃣ Taking random airport taxis instead of trusted ride-hailing apps
6️⃣ Thinking Vietnamese traffic works like Western countries
7️⃣ Booking too many domestic flights instead of slowing down and enjoying the journey
8️⃣ Staying only in tourist areas and missing authentic local neighborhoods
9️⃣ Underestimating Vietnam's heat and humidity
🔟 Eating only "safe" tourist food instead of trying authentic street food
1️⃣1️⃣ Assuming everyone speaks English
1️⃣2️⃣ Forgetting to buy a local SIM card or eSIM
1️⃣3️⃣ Believing every recommendation you see on social media
1️⃣4️⃣ Not negotiating politely at local markets
1️⃣5️⃣ Trying to "conquer" Vietnam instead of slowing down and truly experiencing it.

There are moments during a trip that become much more than sightseeing.

This adorable little girl came to Vietnam as a visitor but left with something far more special—a big sister. ❤️🇻🇳

From sharing laughs to exploring the streets of Saigon together, their genuine connection reminded us that travel isn’t just about the places you visit. It’s about the people you meet and the memories you create along the way.

At Saigon Taste Tours, we don’t just show you our city—we share it with you like a local friend.

Have you ever met someone while traveling who made you feel like family? Tell us your story in the comments! ❤️

For more than 30 years, this well-known street vendor has been a familiar face in Nha Trang, earning an honest living with her carrying pole and becoming part of the city's everyday charm.

Recently, her carrying pole and goods were confiscated after she continued selling in a restricted area and did not comply with local regulations. It's a sad moment to see someone who has worked so hard lose the tools she depends on to make a living.

At the same time, this story reminds us that rules are created to help keep public spaces safe and organized for everyone. We hope all street vendors take the time to understand and follow local regulations so they can continue earning a living without facing situations like this.

Behind every street vendor is a story of hard work, resilience, and the daily effort to support a family. Let's show kindness, respect the law, and hope for compassionate solutions that protect both the community and the livelihoods of hardworking people. ❤️

Do Vietnamese People Prefer Thai Food Over Vietnamese Food? 🤔

You probably wouldn’t expect this… but one of Saigon’s busiest restaurants serves Thai food, not Vietnamese food! 🤯

We visited this incredibly popular spot that’s only been open for 3 years, yet already has 100+ staff working in the kitchen and dining area to serve the huge crowds every night.

🍛 We tried 4 dishes, and every single one was delicious.
💰 Affordable prices.
🍽️ Generous portions.
🎭 Fun live performances while you dine.
🎂 They even celebrate guests’ birthdays with songs and entertainment!

⭐ Overall Rating: 9/10 – Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Saigon.
