My Tho cake, rice vermicelli, Hu Tieu (Noodles) Production Village has been existed for more than 100 hundred years in My Phong commune, My Tho city. In the past, My Tho noodles were made of Go Cat Rice planted in My Phong commune. Go Cat Rice was also the material for producing famous rice vermicelli, girder cakes, turmeric cake for more than a half of century and after many ups and downs, the village is still existed until today.

Visiting this place, the tourists will witness the cake, veemicelli, noodles production phases: cake production, cake drying, cut cutting etc.

Cá lóc nướng trui - Grilled snakehead fish

This is a famous dish of Southern Region. Select the fresh snakehead with the weight of 500-600 gram/ fish to grill. The fish must be grilled evenly to be delicious. After removing all intestines,use a small bamboo stick to the thrust from the head to the tail and then driven the stick in to the ground. Burn the fish with the traw for 5 minutes. The fish is served with grilled cakes, rice vermicelli, fresh vegetables, banana, cucumber etc. The sauce for this dish is also very simple, it is only salt mixed with chili and pepper or fish sauce mixed with chopped star fruit, lemon juice, sugar and chili.

For a long time, Can Tho is famous for cylindrical glutinous rice cake with cam leave with special taste of the river and water region. The ingredients for this cake includes: sticky rice, fresh cam leave, green beans, lean and fat meat mixed, salted duck eggs, coconut water, banana leaves and bamboo strings.
