We are sure we don't have to tell you the Amazon is burning, by now you will have heard it on the news even if it took long enough for anyone to report it.
What's important to get straight are the reasons behind it.
2019 has had a record of +85% more fires compared to last year. 95% of these fires are started by lodgers and farmers who light them up to clear the land for cattle farming.
This means to farm cows that become stakes on dinner tables across the world. Bolsonaro, Brazil's president is in favour of this deforestation suggesting it will help the country economy (even though it might just really turn against himself due to global boycott).
Do you think is worth making more money/eating meat if the world will eventually collapse under a global climate emergency?
We personally think is pretty dumb, shortsighted and greedy.
You can make a difference by reducing or cutting your meat consumption and by donating to https://www.rainforest-alliance.org and https://www.rainforesttrust.org.

We are building a powerful alliance to create a better future for people and nature.

Amazing news! As of today, single-use plastic such as plastic bags, cups and styrofoam is banned in Bali. Is now important that we all work together to make sure the ban is truly in place and we reduce drastically the consumption of plastic packaged goods.

The good news is that in Bali you can easily avoid plastic. For example, you don't need to buy plastic water bottles. Just carry a refillable bottle and you will be able to refill it in any hotel, guest house, bar and restaurant. There are many markets where you can buy vegetable and fruits with no plastic packaging. It takes a bit of effort, but it is our duty as visitors to respect and take care of this island!

FINALLY - after an ever-growing environmental plastic crisis, the Indonesian island of Bali is finally going plastic-free in 2019. Paradise (re)found!

The uncomfortable truth. These are some very powerful campaigns speaking up about the abuses we humans are inflicting on our planets and on animals.

The UN has recently reported that 1 MILLION species may be pushed to extinction in the next few years due to human activity. This includes global warming, plastic pollution, trade.

Every living creature has a role on the Earth which ensures that we can survive. If the 'warm' disappears from the face of the Earth, eventually we will disappear too, it's just a matter of time.

It really terrifying, yet we continue to base our everyday action on convenience and habits, just cause it costs too much make changes.

If I think of having a child, I am personally quite scared about the idea of what type of planet this child would grow up in.

We are the only ones that can reverse this trend, both by changing our everyday actions and by voting the right people in charge and by voting with our money.

A little while ago, we wrote about powerful advertisements that were designed to raise awareness about important social and environmental issues. But what about animals? They don't have any way to raise awareness about the issues they face, so it's up to us to help them out. These advertisements add...

Mount Agung is one of Bali's most majestic and incredible sights. Living on a volcanic island means also facing unique natural events such as eruptions, and Mount Agung often roars and shakes the earth reminding us how powerful it can be.

Referred to our previous post. We recorded this video last week in one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali, covered in plastic which has been washed up from the ocean.

We cannot stress this enough. We all need to reduce our plastic consumption.

Ever asked yourself what happens to all the plastic bottles of water you drink while on holiday (or plastic straws, or plastic bags..)? At best they end up in a landfill, never recycled because there is no infrastructure. At worst they end up in the ocean. Kill marine life and then wash up on the shore.

It is easy to change this. Easier than you think! Bring a refillable water bottle on holiday and refill it at your hotel, or bars and restaurants. Say no to straws and plastic bags. Avoid buying products in plastic packages and containers. Every small action counts!
