RT-019 BHO HOONG AND CO TU VILLAGES (1 DAY)

Explore the stunning beauty and culture of ethnic minority region in the mountains. ITINERARY
08.00 Your driver and guide will collect you from your hotel. After a briefing on the day’s activities, we will set off on our adventure into the ethnic minority region.

09.30 After taking the countryside and laneways route out of Hoi An, we begin our ascent into the mountains. Here we stop for a local Vietnamese coffee and rest break.

10.00 We continue our journey up the mountain, deep in Co Tu country now, stopping at points of interest along the way.

11.00 Next stop Bho Hoong! Arriving at the village, we have the opportunity to freshen up before meeting a local resident who will take you on a guided walk of the village, explaining the local culture and customs as we go.

12.00 After our village walk, it is time to enjoy a local lunch prepared by the village in the community house. After lunch we enjoy a traditional music performance.

13.30 After our relaxing lunch and music performance, we again board our vehicle to begin our return trip to Hoi An.

14.30 Descending the mountain, we arrive at the home of a local Co Tu family. They welcome us into their home to enjoy a cup of tea or for the more adventurous and nip of local Co Tu wine. The home houses Co Tu woodcarvings and other items of cultural significance and we are free to enjoy them.

15.30 We return to our vehicle and continue our journey to Hoi An. Taking a different route, we enjoy the coast and stop at Marble Mountains to explore this significant Buddhist site, before continuing our trip to Hoi An.

17.00 Arrive at your hotel and tour concludes.

BIKING WET RICE TOUR

TOUR INTRODUCTION:

Rice is the staple diet in many Asian countries, especially in Vietnam. Perhaps, you have seen rice growing in most of Asian rice paddy fields. However, you do not know the sequence of rice cultivation in Vietnam. It is still secret know how for the western tourists. We would like to organize the wet rice growing tour for you. Through this tour, we instruct you how to cultivate rice in the fields and also help you experience the hardships of Vietnamese farmers.

We are sure this tour will make your trip an extremely memorable experience.

TOUR PROGRAM:

+ Picking up and dropping off guest at hotel by bicycle ( In case of not being able to bike, van can be used to go as an option.
+ Starting biking to the countryside throughout the rice paddle, enjoy the fresh air with the nature
+ Meeting the local farmer, talking with them about their local farming daily life, having a cup of tea with them at the middle of the rice paddle field farm.
+ Wearing farming clothes before getting into muddy rice field like: Vietnamese authentic and traditional farmer clothes, conical hat, boost …etc …
+ Listening to the tour guide introduced and explained about the process of the wet rice how to grow it.
+Starting the farming works to learn how to grow wet rice with water buffalo plough, use agricultural water system.
+ Transplanting baby wet rice at the rice paddle field
+ Enjoy riding with water buffalo at a small pond at the rice farm
+ Having a local meal with the local farmer at their house
+ Biking back hotel. Ending the trip

One of the greatest pleasure of any visitor to Hoi An is strolling along thebeautiful streets of the old town at night under the flickering lights of them any beautiful lanterns. These colorful lanterns are not only the symbol of Hoi An old town but also a part of the spirit of the Hoi An . We would like to offer you a tour to a traditional Hoi Anhandicraft village to make some lanterns.

1. Half day programme:

Hoi An is an ancient town located in the lower section of Thu Bon River, Quang Nam Province, about 30 kilometers south of Danang
city. Hoi An was a bustling international trading port,a meeting place of the trading ships of Japan, China and the West during the 17th and 18th centuries. Before this period, there was here also traces of Champa port which was known as a site on Silk Road along the sea.
Hoi An ancient town today is a special example of a traditional port city in Southeast Asia which has been well preserved. Most houses here are of traditional architecture dating from the 17th to the 19th century,and are along the narrow main streets. Hoi An is also a land mark recorded much of the mixture of acculturation.The architecture of the city reflects the influence of chinese ,japanese, portuguese,french and british traders.Hoi An still maintained an intangible cultural diversity and richness. Hoi An is considered as a living museum of architecture and urban lifestyle. With outstanding value,in the end of 1999, UNESCO has recognized the ancient town of Hoi An as a world cultural heritage.

1. Half day tour :
8:00 am, the guide welcome you at hotel lobby. Walk to the old town, buy entrance tickets and begin the tour. Start visiting the Temple Kwan, P**c Kien Temple, Tan Ky Ancient House, Phung Hung house, Japanese Bridge and cultural show rooms in Hoi An. After your walking tour If you have free time ,you can do shopping at the old town. Guide will take you back to the hotel. End of program.

TRA NHIEU FISHING VILLAGE

Tra nhieu, a village of Duy Vinh commune, is located on Thu Bon river bank. This is a peaceful, romantic area where typical features of Vietnamese villages are now still maintained. From Hoi An, by boat along Thu Bon river, 3km toward the southeast, you will reach the site. Here, you can enjoy fresh air, beautiful and poetic scenery. You can see all the village roads winding around local garden houses shaded by scented betel-nut trees. The further you walk through the village, the more peaceful and simple you feel about the local life. You can see some traditional handicrafts, community activities related to the river life. Tra Nhieu village has a wide range of livelihood such as farming, fishing, poultry and livestock breeding, mattress making.... Besides you can also enjoy some local specialties made with local ingredients.

1. Full day Programme:
8:00: the guide welcome guest at hotel lobby, take bikes to Thu Bon wharf on Bach Dang street and sailing through Thu Bon River to Cam Kim village by local ferry. Continue take bikes to Tra Nhieu village, on the way stop visit making basket boat. Arrival Tra Nhieu village (Duy Vinh Commune), here you will have a biref introduction to the history, traditional handicraft of the village such as: farming, fishing, poultry and livestock breeding, mattress making....After that, you will be taken in a boat with local fisherman to learn how to cast a net, catch fish, …Have lunch with traditional dishes at local house. Bidding farewell to the local fisherman, then back to Hoi An ancient town by tourist boat for sightseeing. End the tour around 15:00.

EXPERIENCE A DAY AT TRA QUE VEGETABLE VILLAGE

08:00 Local guide will see you at your Hotel with your bicycle. You will cycle to a local farm in Tra Que village.
A short stroll will take you around the vegetable garden and then you can join in with the farmers in preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. The experience includes raking the ground, sowing, watering, and picking the vegetables as well many other gardening activities.
After this, you will take a short rest and enjoy a footbath before helping to prepare lunch with a local family. The lunch will consist of many local delicacies including ‘Tam huu’ spring roll, Banh Xeo or local pancake of the people in the middle region of Vietnam.
After your morning excursion and your lunch, you will take a Vietnamese traditional post-lunch nap before learning how to harvest and wrap vegetables.
Around 14:00 bid farewell to your host family befoore riding back to Hoi An. End the tour.
