🌾 Mu Cang Chai is starting to turn golden...

I've been out in the fields almost every day this week, and the rice terraces are changing color faster than many people expect.

If you're planning to visit Northern Vietnam in the next few weeks, this is what you can expect:

• Golden rice terraces almost everywhere.
• Cool mornings with beautiful mountain mist.
• Farmers beginning the harvest season.
• Amazing light for photography, especially at sunrise and late afternoon.

A small tip: don't only visit the famous viewpoints. Some of the quiet valleys and small H'Mong villages are even more beautiful and much less crowded.

Every morning during the water season in Mù Cang Chải, the first golden rays light up the ancient rice terraces while local H'mong farmers begin their day, walking quietly beside their buffalo through the flooded fields.
