ABOUT MUI NE BEACH - PHAN THIET IN VIET NAM...
Mui Ne is the name of a headland, a popular tourist center in Phan Thiet, which is included in the list of national tourist attractions in Vietnam. The name comes from the activity that ships in Mui Ne often hide storms at sea by coming to this area. Located 22km from Phan Thiet City on the east, Mui Ne has become a tourist destination tourist tourist attraction because of the harmony between the yellow of the immense sand dunes and wide color blue of the towering coconut trees bending around the coast. Currently, Mui Ne is one of the beautiful beaches in Southeast Asia. There are many luxury resorts suitable for your resort.
However, it will not be as popular as today without a right decision from the authorities. With the development of tourism, from a little-inhabited beach, Mui Ne has seen some significant development in the last 15 years.
Now it is a long strip of resorts that line up on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, shaded by coconut palms. It is a ward of the city of Phan Thiet and is developing the project of upgrading the town of Binh Thuan Province.

Fishing Village: Scattering some poor fishing villages over a large sand dune desert which is far away from roads, it has become the first high-end resort capital of the south-central coast. Mui Ne is one of the most beautiful beaches in South East Asia (SEA) with a blue sea and sandy hills. It also has lots of luxury resorts suitable for your holiday.
One interesting thing here is that you cannot get lost in Mui Ne because the whole place consists of one long strip along a main street – Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. Motorbike taxis (also “Xe Om”) are everywhere and they will come to you whenever you leave the hotel. If you want to make a good deal there, bargain hard is usually a good idea. Taxicabs are abundant with fares slightly higher than Hochiminh City but still reasonable. You can also rent motorbikes and bicycles at many resorts and tour agencies. Due to the light traffic, riding a bike is the best way to explore the surroundings. However, it is getting harder and harder to rent because of bike thefts and the enforcement of Vietnamese driving license. The hotel may rent for you because it could be more convenient if your passport is available. There is an old saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” and it appears to be true there. When getting on a bike, you must have your Vietnamese driving license by your side and wear a helmet regardless you are driving the bike or just sitting behind. The police are friendly but quite straight forward in order to prevent any accident may happen. If you don’t break any rule, you normally won’t be stopped by the police :).
Fairy Stream: The Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) is a little river that winds its way through bamboo forests, boulders and the dunes behind the village. For the most part, the stream is about ankle-deep and no more than knee-deep even at its deepest. The space glow with red sand and it is not so far from the beach. It is sandy with few stones and can be walked comfortably barefooted.
Mui Ne Sand Dunes: also known as Flying Sand Dunes – spread on a vast area of hundreds of kilometers. It is called flying sand dunes because the shape and form of the sand change with the time. Thus, there is no certain pattern there. Wind contributes greatly to forming the shape of the sand.
Coming to those sand dunes, it is advisable to slide down the sandy slope by using a carton board. It is believed that the higher the slope is, the happier the visitors are.
Mui Ne Fishing Village is inside a small bay, so it is relatively safe for boats and ships in Phan Thiet to anchor. Breathing in particular smells of fish sauce, salty smells of sea, and fishy smells, the visitor can imagine a working day of the fishermen in the village.
Gentle smiles of gaunt faces and shout of laughter from the villagers bring peaceful and healthy life for the villagers. Fishing village is a nice place to learn more about the lifestyle of fishermen and to buy the raw seafood with a relatively cheap price.
Kitesurfing
Coming to Mui Ne, the visitor will have a chance to do kitesurfing. It is offered by the outfitters or hotels. Kitesurfing instruction is available here for those who don’t know how to do it. From November to March, strong winds blow all the time. The wind in Mui Ne emerges by thermal movements, after the shores are warmed by the Sun. The perfect wind will be appears from 11AM until the late evening. With strong wind, the water will be at the height of 4 meters. Visitors can be put in the safest condition because there are rarely gusty winds.
The water is free of rocks, which makes it relatively safe to kite. However, in the peak season, more than 300 kite-surfers; so that it is a bit dangerous for the beginners and students who do kite-surfing. Watching out for other kite-surfers, especially swimmers who are difficult to see when waves are high. There are several kite-surfing schools along the beach, which all employ Beach Boys who will help you how to kite-surf. With a small tip for a Beach Boy, you can take the training course. After that, perform what you have learned toward people.
What could you do if the wind doesn’t strong enough to kite-surf? You can swim while waiting for the wind.
Sky-Blue Beach
The sea is wonderfully warm, but it can be quite rough, with large waves and a strong rip tide. When the tide is in, there is not much of a beach to speak of. When wind is blowing it can be quite chilly to even think of swimming. The area between kilometer markers 11 and 13 has the largest stretch of enduring sandy beach. Since large waves normally emerge after 11AM you might prefer to swim in the early morning hours, when the water is flat and free of Kite-surfers.
