Pu Hu is located between the two rivers Ma and Luong and consists of a fully protected core zone and the surrounding buffer zone which is populated by ethnic minorities. The slopes of the buffer zone areas are mainly covered in planted bamboo forests while the hills, mountains and deep valleys are all covered by beautiful rainforest. Hardly any research about the wildlife in the Nature Reserve has been conducted and the area is untouched by tourism! New efforts are made to improve the protection of flora and fauna by intensifying GPS controlled foot patrolling and the promotion of Protection Expedition Tourism.
