new teacher
TÔI LÀ TIM, XIN CHÀO CÁC BẠN !
Hello everyone,
My name is Tim and I will be your teacher for the next weeks.
For the three years prior to my curent travels, I have spent my time in school and managing different businesses: one small clothing company and one residential painting company that hired students to paint our customers' homes.
Thus, for the next weeks, my goal is to teach you about every aspect of running a small business efficiently. I want to draw parrallels between the businesses I have managed and potential businesses or projects some of you might be interested in running.
Starting a business - or any sort of project - (and running it afterwards) is no easy task and this class will be designed towards making the perhaps obscure world of entrepreneurship seem more accessible.
To help me get a better understanding of what kind of project appeal to you, I would appreciate if, BEFORE OUR FIRST SCHEDULED CLASS, you could come up with a project, business or non-profit (charity) idea.
It should :
- Be something that you are PASSIONATE about (i.e. Fashion, programming, etc)
- Be something which YOU OR SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU would be in charge of (i.e. Your company, your family's restaurant, etc)
It may :
- Be something in which you do not presently have any knowledge or experience (I had never learned anything about fashion before starting my clothing company)
- Be something that seems "impossible" to you right now (i.e. Start a charity to help build schools in Vietnam, have a business with offices worldwide, etc)
- Be something that you can OR can not start right now, for various reasons (no time, no money, too young, etc) - we will discuss those reasons in class.
Also, I would like you to please come up with THREE reasons why you would like this project/business/etc. to succeed, if you were to start it.
Please bring the ideas as well as reasons to class, preferably written on a sheet of paper, in English, so I can review them and keep our class relevant to your intrests!
I am looking forward to meeting you!
Regards,
