Da Dia Reef is located in Tuy An District, and far away 40 km from Tuy Hoa City to the north. This is an outstanding phenomenon naturally. Forming by rock in hexagon, the whole reef looks like a giant beehive if we look from above. These blocks of rocks are considered to be formed by vocano eruption, when the magma met the ocean, it turned into solid substance quickly. Although Da Dia Reef is an unusual insteresting phenomenon, the local authorities and private companies haven’t invested in it appropriately yet. you can reach the reef physically, not just looking at it far away.There stands a small store right at the entrance to the reef, you can buy some souvenirs and enjoy cool coconuts at small price ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 depents on season. On the road to the reef, you might meet some houses or walls made of particular kind of rock. The locals used this rock to build wells, cages for cows and houses. Nowadays, cement has gradually replaced rock for building, but some existent walls or houses remind us the traditional building style in the past.
Moreover, with the help of the locals, you can find some tradition villages on the way to the reef. One of them you can discover is the round-boat making village. The round-boat is made of natural material. Vietnamese use the outer part of bamboo and put them together carefully to make the boat. The interesting point is, they don’t use chemicals, instead they mix resin from a specific tree and cow s**t (sorry, i don’t know the better word) to make a sticky substance. And then, the put this subtance to the boats to make them water-proof. The resin is also considered the impotant glue to make Cham towers like My Son Sanctuary

Vung Ro is one of the most beautful beaches in Viet Nam. it is not famous as Nha Trang beaches because it hasn't been invested. but it's also the reason why tourists should visit there. It still remains it's wild appearance. when you go from Tuy Hoa, you should set off at 4am or sooner to make sure that you don't miss the chance of enjoying the sunrise from the pass. go along the pass, you will see a lighthouse called Mui Dien and a small beach next to it. the entrance fee to get into the lighthouse is 10,000VND ( less than 50 cents). the lighthouse was built in 1890 by French. there is also a house for people who work in the lighthouse. French built an underground tank to store rainy water and the solar panel on the roof. the lighthouse is 26,5m tall and up to 110m above the sea level. the lighthouse worked for 55 years (stopped in 1945 when French was defeated by the Vietnamese Communist) . after that, Vung Ro was the place to to get weapons, food, etc from the north by the unidentified ships during the war against American.
from the lighthouse, you keep going to the south for 10 minutes, you'll see a small fishing village. you can ask the local to drive you to the island( where you can see the coral reef) and their floating house( where they raise fish) by boat. of course, you don't want to miss the sea food in there. you can ask them for a meal with a lot of sea food at cheap price

Before introducing Mang Lang church I want to talk about Alexandre de Rhodes first. He was the priest who came to Viet Nam in 1625 and he started to convince people to convert to Christianity. He was also a linguist and he learned Vietnamese very fast. The Vietnamese writing system was created by him for the purpose of preaching. One of the most important dedication was the book “phep giang 8 ngay” (Catechismus) which is still stored in Mang Lang church.
According to a historical script, the oldest princess of Lord Nguyen P**c Nguyen named Ngoc Lien, converted to Christianity in 1636. She established a chapel and put the foundation for the first Christian community in Phu Yen. Her adopted son – Andre continued her spirit and died at the age of 19 because of the restriction rule towards Christianity.
Mang Lang church was built in 1892, located 25km from Tuy Hoa city to the north, which is now more than 120 years old. Being designed by a French architect, Gothic architecture is one of the most specific traits, however it also has the Vietnamese decoration style.

Nhan tower is located in the north of Tuy Hoa city. It was built in around the 12th century by Cham people who lost their land to Vietnamese in the past. The central of Viet Nam was belonged to Champa Kingdom, but under the pressure of Invasion of Vietnamese, their territory has become smaller and they also had to move their capital city to the south through centuries, finally the Kingdom was no longer exist in 1832 under the Nguyen Dynasty. Nowadays, Cham people gradually become minority ethnic, but their heritages still remain as the strong evidences of the wealthy kingdom.
The main religion of Cham is Hinduism, so their temples have the specific trail of Hindu architecture. Nhan tower has 4 storeys, smaller up to the top, each line at the bottom is about 10m. It has a Goddess statue inside. Through centuries, Nhan tower was damaged partly because of war and the effect of nature, thanks to foreigner experts and the local people, it was repaired to have the original appearance.
Nhan tower is one of the temples spread along the central of Viet Nam. The most famous Cham temple is My Son sanctuaty in Quang Nam province, of which you can easily search for information on the internet or Viet Nam tourism guide book.
I’m a native Vietnamese who lives in Phu Yen province, so in this article I focus on introducing the uncommon destinations in Phu Yen for tourists. In fact, Phu Yen has a lot of charming beaches, historical constructions, but it’s not popular in tourism. If you are looking for luxury service, Phu Yen may not be a good choice, you should go to Nha Trang instead, but it’s going to be a cheap remarkable trip if you want to discover Phu Yen as a traveller.
