Prekaz Stands in Three Days of Remembrance

Across Kosovo, 5, 6, and 7 March point back to Prekaz - the village where the three‑day siege of 1998 altered the course of the country’s future. These dates remain anchored here, held in the damaged architecture and the open space that surrounds it.

The memorial complex preserves the site as it stood. The ruined family home, the rows of flags in the cemetery, and the museum containing materials from those days form a clear and quiet landscape of remembrance. The complex is protected and maintained by the Agjencia për Menaxhimin e Kompleksëve Memoriale të Kosovës.

For anyone traveling through central Kosovo, Prekaz offers a grounded understanding of why these days continue to be remembered - not through narration, but through the space itself.

Me fat muajin e Ramazanit | Ramadan Kareem 🌙

As the crescent moon marks the beginning of the holy month, we wish a peaceful and blessed Ramadan to everyone observing in Kosovo and abroad.

In Kosovo, Ramadan is where spiritual reflection meets deep-rooted hospitality. You can feel the community spirit in the air, from the Ezani echoing through Prizren’s cobblestone streets to the warm aroma of fresh Pitajka (traditional Ramadan flatbread) wafting from local bakeries just before sunset.

Traveler’s Note: Most restaurants offer special Iftar menus. We recommend booking your table at least 4 hours in advance as city centers become very lively.

The Reçak Memorial is Kosovo’s cry for justice.

January 15th, marks the anniversary of the events at Reçak, a site of national significance for Kosovo’s journey toward justice. Ambassador William Walker is visiting the site to pay his respects.

Marking the site of the 1999 massacre that shocked the world and catalyzed international intervention. It stands as a national symbol of dignity, loss, and remembrance.

This isn’t just your average appetizer. In Kosovo, Suxhuk is considered a premium delicacy, often given as a thoughtful gift or served to guests during special occasions. It is dark, dense, and packed with garlic and red pepper that hits you with just the right amount of heat. 🌶️
