Salt in your hair, wine in your glass, nowhere else you’d rather be. That’s a Meridian summer ☀️🧜🏻‍♀️🦪

This is what small-group travel actually looks like. Unhurried mornings, secret coastlines, meals that turn into three hour conversations with the wine flowing, and a group of strangers who leave as friends. Our Portugal journey is back this August. Just a few spots remain!

“We live in a time in the history of humans that is really troubled. And yet we have so much potential. Travel is a way to bridge us to that potential.”

That’s what Meridian Boutique Travel is built for.

Not the highlight reel version of travel. Not the guidebook. Not the same golden-hour shot everyone else is taking.

The version where you put yourself outside your comfort zone, open your eyes to the ways other people live, and come home with a broader view of the world — and your place in it.

This year we have two trips left.

🇵🇹 Portugal — August 14–22 Nine days of slow, restorative, soul-filling travel through Sintra, the Alentejo, and the Algarve. Co-hosted with sommelier DeAnna Ornelas of Cosecha Wine & Mezcal.

🇯🇵 Japan — September 10–20 Eleven days of food-forward, culturally immersive travel through Tokyo, Kanazawa, and Kyoto. Co-hosted with Michelin-trained Chef Sam Saltos of Hiyaku Sushi.

Small groups. Real access. Travel that actually changes something.

From a previous Portugal traveler:

“…This trip stands out as one of my all-time favorites, thanks to the beautiful connections and captivating allure of Portugal.”

This is what we’re going back for in August. The trail co-founded by the ranch owner, where we stay. Lunch in a Portuguese family living room. DeAnna, our sommelier cohost, picking the wine. The Alentejo, slow and warm, on purpose.

Just a few spots left! Booking close on July 1. Grab your spot now at the link in bio!

This is what I mean when I say ‘soul seeing not sightseeing.’

Three generations of Portuguese pig farmers. The grandfather waving his arms around like we were old friends. Port at the door. A long table full of fresh cheeses, breads, local produce.

Every single traveler said the same thing after: that lunch, a simple lunch, was the best part of the whole trip. Not the catamaran. Not the wine tastings. Not the fresh oysters or long afternoons by the pool, or late nights under the stars.

You can’t book this on Tripadvisor. You get there because someone you trust has spent a long time building the relationship.

Portugal leaves this August, and there’s a few spots left.

Enrollment closes July 1 — link in bio.

I think a lot about what makes someone finally say yes to a tour of this magnitude. Not because I’m trying to be a schmoozy car salesmen, but because I genuinely believe that travel can change you for the better. And collectively, we need a big change. But change happens at the individual level, with a ripple effect, so that cycle does actually start with you. You following me?!

So when I think about what people are saying yes to, it’s rarely the itinerary. It’s rarely even the destination. It’s usually something else, something quieter: A Tuesday morning when the routine feels a little heavier than usual, or a conversation with a friend who just got back from somewhere extraordinary, or a feeling that’s been lingering in the back of your chest for months that says: I need a change. A shift. A re-orientation of what is real, what matters.

I think about the people I’ve met through this incredible work I get to call my job. The people who almost didn’t come, who talked themselves out of it three times before finally saying yes. I have never once heard someone say they regretted going. Not once. What I hear instead is: I needed that more than I knew. I didn’t expect to make real friends. I came home different.

So here’s what I want to ask you:

What if it all works out? ❤️‍🔥✨🤠🌀

In Portugal, it’s no different: The Version of You That Goes Always Wins.

Think: a private catamaran through the Ria Formosa with stops for swimming, dolphin-watching, and snacking on oysters shucked straight from the water into your hand. Lunch with multi-generational local families who cook the way their grandparents taught them. Wine poured by the people who grew it, on the land where it came from. Coastal hikes along the Rota Vicentina with the Atlantic on one side and wildflowers on the other. And long, slow, sun-drenched afternoons in the Alentejo where time moves differently and no one’s in a hurry.

I swear to god this place has me in A CHOKEHOLD!!

But don’t take it from me, take it from our travelers: “This trip is designed for travelers that want to stay in nice accommodations, eat local farm-to-table food, and support local economies — all while staying active and maybe drinking a little local wine and port along the way. It was great to just show up and have everything organized for us.”

The slow trip. The deep breath. The one that keeps calling us back.

Portugal has a way of doing something to you — slowing your nervous system down, filling your plate with things you sweet, fresh seafood, cheese and produce — handing you back a version of yourself you forgot existed.

That’s what we’re going back for this August.

Nine days through Sintra, the Alentejo, and the Algarve. Small group. Real food. Wine poured by someone who grew it. Coastal hikes, a private catamaran, oysters from the water, and more than enough time to do absolutely nothing.

Co-hosted with sommelier DeAnna Ornelas of — who will tell you the only reason to travel anywhere is if the food and drink are worth the airfare. In Portugal, they are.

August 14–22, 2026 · 14 guests maximum · $5,600 per person, all-inclusive (flights not included)

4 spots have already been booked!! 🔥🔥

Something is coming.

Three trips. Three completely different worlds. Each one built around an experience most people will never find on their own — because finding it took me years.

This week, I’m sharing all of it.

“Today I’m going to tell you about three life shifting moments I’ve had while traveling abroad, and how the messy middle got me to where I am today.

The first time I officially decided to go on a scouting trip for Meridian — the first time I said out loud, with money and a flight confirmation behind it, “I am building this thing” — I got COVID two weeks before departure. Miraculously, in that same time frame, Morocco changed their COVID test requirements from PCR tests (which would detect COVID even if you were not still contagious) to rapid tests. I finally tested negative, and I WAS GOING!

Except then, on the flight to Maine — where I was stopping first to see my honey and some dear friends before the big international departure — a fellow passenger overheard me on a phone call mentioning I’d just had COVID. Context: not included.

They reported me to the airline. I s**t you not, the desk agents pulled me aside and required me to swab my nose right there at the gate before I’d be allowed to board.”

…

This is what we hear after almost every trip. Group travel has a reputation. We know. But there’s a version of it that feels nothing like what you’re imagining. Smaller, slower, built around people who were carefully chosen to be in the room together.

That’s what we build at Meridian.
