PUBLIC ADVISORY | CANCELLATION OF AGLIPAY DAY WREATH-LAYING CEREMONY

Due to the prevailing weather conditions, the Wreath-Laying Ceremony in commemoration of the 86th Death Anniversary of Monsignor Gregorio Aglipay, scheduled tomorrow, September 1, 2026, is hereby cancelled to prioritize the safety and well-being of all attendees, participants, and government personnel involved in the preparations.

Based on the PAGASA weather forecast, Ilocos Norte will remain to experience Orange-level rainfall until tomorrow, September 1, indicating intense rainfall that may cause flooding and landslide, particularly in vulnerable areas.

While the ceremony will no longer push through, may we still take this day to remember Monsignor Gregorio Aglipay and honor his enduring legacy of courage, patriotism, and service to the nation. May the values he stood for continue to inspire us, especially during challenging times.

Please stay safe and remain vigilant.

A hero of Batac

Every hero has an origin story. Batac’s begins with an empanada.

For the Municipal Costume Competition of Miss Ilocos Norte 2026, Miss Batac transforms into EMPANARDA, a heroine inspired by the city’s most beloved culinary symbol.

Every city has its own mythology. Batac’s may well be written in flour, filled with something familiar, and folded into the shape of something the world has come to recognize.

Her golden armor echoes the crisp, sunlit character of the Batac empanada; her orange cape carries the warmth and energy of a city whose identity is inseparable from its food. In her hands are the humble tools of the kitchen, transformed into instruments of purpose—a reminder that behind every empanada are the hands, craft, and livelihood of local makers.

Yet Empanarda’s greatest power is not found in her armor or her crown. It is found in what she protects: a tradition, a livelihood, and a taste that has become a symbol of home.

She is Batac’s heroine not because she conquers, but because she carries forward what is worth keeping.

She does not wear Batac merely as a symbol.She becomes its guardian.

She is EMPANARDA!

For the Ilocano Designer Showcase of Miss Ilocos Norte 2026, Miss Batac steps into a creation where heritage is not merely remembered—it is reimagined.

Inspired by the historic churches of Ilocos Norte, the design translates enduring symbols of faith, unity, strength, and heritage into embroidery and silhouette. The rose window becomes a quiet emblem of faith, while the poste reflects the strength and support that have long held communities together.

With her es**rt, Miss Batac presents an Ilocano story through contemporary design—a heritage shaped by history, carried by its people, and given new life on the runway.

There are silhouettes that belong to fashion, and there are those that belong to memory.
The Terno carries both.

For the Miss Ilocos Norte 2026 Terno Competition, Miss Batac wears the timeless Filipiniana silhouette with a distinctly personal touch—her winning color, the same hue she wore in previous pageants where she earned her victories. Reintroduced in a refined contemporary form, the color becomes more than a styling choice; it becomes a thread connecting the woman she was, the crowns she has earned, and the woman she stands as today.

With its graceful proportions, sculptural sleeves, and fluid movement.
It is elegance without excess; tradition without nostalgia.

The stage comes home.

This time, the spotlight finds its way back to Batac as the Ilocandia Cultural Center hosts another chapter of Miss Ilocos Norte 2026 - an evening where beauty becomes a meeting point of heritage, imagination, and contemporary Ilocano design.

Here, the stage becomes more than a place to be seen. It becomes a place to interpret, embody, and leave an impression - where every entrance carries intention, every detail holds meaning, and every Ilocana brings her own story into the light.

Among them is our very own Miss Batac, Chesca Cabansag, stepping forward with the character of the city and the hopes of a community standing behind her.

Join us as we witness the Terno, Municipal Costume, and Ilocano Designer Showcase of Miss Ilocos Norte 2026 - 2nd Preliminary Round.
