Our last day on the Destiny was a sea day filled with fun! I started with an early morning workout and walk around the ship, coffee from Cove Cafe, then met with everyone else for the famous Mickey Churro waffles (which are S-Tier according to my kids!). We met characters, watched Hercules and Emperor’s New Groove from the pools, and rode the AquaMouse (and saw the Destiny’s special short: Villians Mountain!). Lunch at Smokestack BBQ and Donald’s Cantina before seeing the Hercules matinee (AMAZING!), followed with Little Hero Dash and more pool before Dinner at Worlds of Marvel and a showing of Toy Story 5 from the Neverland Theater- one of two movie theaters on board!

It was such a great sailing and the Destiny has shot to the top of our favorite ship list. So thankful for this time to make magic with family!

After spending the day on Castaway, we headed back to the ship for Pirate Night! We had lots of fun dressing up, telling Pirate jokes, meeting characters, and soaking up the atmosphere during the World Cup at Cask and Cannon (Pirates themed sports bar on board). Loved coming back to our room and finding our blanket animal too!

We were very fortunate to get a Sandcastle Cabana (family beach) on our Castaway Cay day- And oh my goodness, was it a treat! Shaded, padded seating, personal safe for valuables, stocked beverage fridge with included soft drinks, digital pad to order extra soda, fruit, waters, cocktails, snacks, towels, sunscreen, or even change the music loop in your space, hammock and floats for the water, reserved loungers and umbrellas, a fresh water shower to rinse off, and golf cart concierge to get you to/from the tram stop… but all those things couldn’t compare to the VIEW! 🤩 There were also photographers to take family pictures on the beach with the ship in the background! It was a splurge, but many, many core memories were made. Highly recommend!!

Day 3 on the Destiny brought us to Castaway Cay! Any day on Castaway Cay is going to be a great day. 💖 It started out a little overcast and drizzly, but turned more and more beautiful as the tide came in. We made “Shelly 2.0” (the sand turtle) early in the day and enjoyed watching Shelly go out to sea with the tide as we splashed, read, found treasures, and played. Had a great lunch on the island complete with “dessert nachos”- cookie chunks dipped in soft serve. Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places to relax and we had the best time doing just that with our family.

Day 2 wrapped up with a delicious dinner at 1923, Cruella DeVil’s fashion show, a wonderful evening live stage performance of Frozen, a Wall-E towel animal (eeeee!!), and Treble Making with Cruella (18+), another character experience in her lounge on the ship- hilarious!

Day 2 highlights included breakfast on our veranda while listening to the Bahamian Independence Day Parade from the streets of Nassau, meeting Spider-Man, Chewbacca and Rey, kids club/adult time, AquaMouse, funnel vision movies, lunch at Mickey’s Festival of Foods (complete with soft serve!), checking out the Haunted Mansion Parlor, and a Mixology class for the adults! We had so much fun exploring what the Destiny has to offer!

One of those amazing character moments we knew we had to get to on the Destiny was the show With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show. This show is adults only (18+) and we were able to sneak away while kids wanted to go to the kids club after our dinner at Pridelands. This show was HILARIOUS- but you will get more out of it if you are a Marvel fan who is familiar with all the movies and characters. That said, we love Marvel and had an absolute blast! One of the highlights of our trip. If you are a Marvel fan, this is a MUST!

Our first dinner on the Destiny was in Pride Lands, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The entertainment for dinner was a group of storytellers/singers/dancers/musicians who retold the story of the Lion King in a way that felt very similar to the Broadway show on a smaller scale. But don’t let that fool- the energy was HIGH and the talent exceptional! The menu was also fantastic with lots of warm, rich flavors inspired by African cuisine. I started with a cocktail sampler and the Curried Apricot Chicken Sosaties along with the Sweet Potato Lentil and Coconut Soup. All of it was delicious! (The lychee cocktail was the only one I didn’t care for, everything else was excellent!) For my main course, I had the Cape Malay Shrimp Curry which was rich, warm, comforting, and full of flavor. Another hit! Dessert was the Warm Chocolate Malva Pudding and oh my, the combination of dark chocolate and fruit flavors is still making my mouth water. Dining here was one of the best ways we could’ve kicked off our trip!
