The biggest tip I'd add to this cruise port guide is to be strategic about your carry-on. Your checked luggage may not reach your stateroom immediately, so keep travel documents, medications, valuables and anything you'll need during your first afternoon with you.
Once you're onboard, grab lunch, explore and start enjoying the ship. Your vacation has officially begun—even if your suitcase hasn't arrived yet.

You’ll need to go to the front desk to see if there is availability to extend your resort stay, and then add days to your ticket through the app or at guest services. But, you must add days to your ticket before your last day.

A river cruise can be a great multigenerational family vacation—but it's very different from taking the family on a large ocean cruise.
The entertainment is primarily the destination. Instead of waterslides and huge kids' clubs, families spend their days exploring European cities, historic sites and local culture, then return to the same ship each evening.
