ONE DEAD IN MALL PARKING ACCIDENT

A 75-year-old male resident of Central Ambiong Benguet died in an accident at the parking area of a mall in the city.

The Baguio City Police Office under PCOL Ruel D. Tagel in a report to Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the incident happened at 1:35 p.m. May 22, 2025.

Initial investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Unit said that the victim was walking along the parking area when he was accidentally bumped by a Ford Ranger pick-up while in the process of parking in one of the lanes.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by the mall management's emergency vehicle but was declared dead on arrival.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody while TEU investigators prepare the necessary documents for the inquest proceedings for a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. - APR/BCPO

SENIOR HURT IN RIMANDO ACCIDENT

A 76-year-old male was injured after being hit by a passenger jeepney along Rimando Road at 1:30 p.m. May 14.

The Baguio City Police Office under P Col. Ruel Tagel said the victim was crossing the road when the driver of the modernized jeepney allegedly miscalculated the distance and bumped the victim on the left side of his body.

The victim was immediately brought to the hospital by responding CDRRMO personnel.

The driver and the involved vehicle were turned over to the Traffic Investigation Unit for investigation. - APR/BCPO
