The Advocate Edit ✍🏼: When’s the best time to book a holiday?

We get asked this all the time!! and the answer might surprise you…

Here’s the tea:

• Flights are usually cheapest 4–6 months out for international travel, and around 6–8 weeks for domestic.

• Peak season (school hols, Xmas, summer)? Book as early as possible — think 9-12 months ahead.

• Last-minute can work — but usually for solo travellers or flexible couples. Not ideal for families or group trips.

• For the best combo of price + choice, aim to book around 6 months ahead.

AND the earlier you book, the longer you have to pay it off in chunks! Travel lay-bys = stress-free countdowns!

Planning ahead = more options, better prices, and a lot less FOMO 😆👍
