My favorite way to save on rental cars? Costco Travel. 🚗🌴

We've booked through them for trips like Hawaii and Florida, and here's why I use them every time I can:

✓ A second driver is included free with most rental companies, which can save $10–15 a day

✓ Nothing is due until pickup, so you can cancel for free

✓ The prices are often lower than booking direct

My best tip: keep checking the price after you book! Since cancellation is free, I rebook whenever the price drops. On our Florida trip, that saved us hundreds of dollars. 🙌🏼

You'll need a Costco membership to book, but it pays for itself fast if you travel.

Save this for your next road trip! 📌

The charming Bavarian town we stayed in near Neuschwanstein Castle… and we stayed 2 nights on Hyatt points! 🇩🇪🏔️

Instead of staying in the busy towns right by the castle, we based ourselves in Oberstaufen in the Allgäu region, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops. We woke up every morning to cowbells ringing outside our window 🔔🐄, and the big park area was perfect for slowing down and soaking it all in.

They offered a free delicious buffet breakfast which was amazing! We ended our days with a swim and pizza on the patio in our bathrobes. 🍕My kids LOVE when the hotel has robes! ❤️

We stayed at the Lindner Parkhotel Oberstaufen, which was part of World of Hyatt at the time. Heads up: it left Hyatt in 2025, so it's no longer bookable with points through Hyatt. But Oberstaufen is still so worth the stop! ⭐ In my quick search, it looks like you could still book this hotel through the Chase and Capital One travel portals 🙌🏼

Would you stay somewhere quieter like this, or right by the castle? 👇

8 nights in Costa Rica, and every stop felt completely different. 🇨🇷

We started in the volcanic mountains of Rincón de la Vieja with waterfalls, hot springs, and volcanic mud. Next came the rainforest in La Fortuna, where we stayed in an Airbnb with a private pool and spent our days canyoning, ziplining, and night hiking. The only thing I wish we could have seen was a clear view of Arenal Volcano. It was in the clouds the whole time we were there. I guess we have to go back!! We ended on the beach at Andaz Papagayo. 🌋🌿🏝️

We saw so many animals!! Some include scarlet macaws in La Fortuna, a sloth on our night hike and at our Airbnb, and howler monkeys right outside our rooms at the Andaz. 🦜🦥🐒

A few things that made it easy:

✈️ We flew in and out of Liberia, so the whole trip was an easy loop.

🚙 Adobe Rent a Car was amazing. They even met us at the Andaz to pick up the car. Recommend for sure 🙌🏼

🚐 Frank the Tank, who also ran our private snorkel and fishing tour, drove us to the airport on our last day. They give a discounted shuttle rate for those who book a tour! Highly recommend them 👍🏼

We LOVED Costa Rica and can’t wait to go back 😍

The one tour that stuck out as a favorite for everyone:
Canyoning and Waterfall Rappelling with Maquique Adventure in La Fortuna!! I reached out ahead of time before I booked and they sent me a discount code 🙌🏼 It doesn’t hurt to ask!! Definitely add this to your trip ❤️

3 couples. 3 nights. A $22,000+ resort stay… on points. 🌴

To end our 8-night Costa Rica anniversary trip, we stayed at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo with two other couples. Everyone sent me their Hyatt points, and I booked all 3 rooms at 35K points per night because I’m the only one who had Hyatt status (105K per couple).

💰 Rooms are going for $2,390/night right now.

🚫 No resort fees, since they're waived on award stays.

🍳 Free breakfast buffet every morning, normally $39 per person and over $700 for our group, thanks to my Globalist status. They kindly extended it to all 3 rooms. That's not guaranteed, but it was such a treat!

Monkeys outside our rooms, sunsets from the balcony, a private beach, and the most relaxing way to end our trip. 🐒🌅

Heads up: award prices here have gone up since we booked. You'll now see 35K–65K points per night depending on dates, so book early and watch for lower-priced nights.

You can click on points calendar after you search, and you’ll be able to see points rates for months at a time. That is very helpful for planning!

This was a favorite day in GERMANY!!

We took a boat across Königssee in Berchtesgaden National Park, and halfway across, the boat stopped so someone could play the horn and let the mountains echo it back. 🎺 It was very cool!!

We hiked to Obersee, and spent the afternoon exploring. Some of the kids (and Dave 😂) even jumped in with their clothes on. Then it was snacks at the little café, goats and sheep, and a German dance on the ride back.

On the boat ride back, we got off at St. Bartholomä to tour the church. Then we hopped back on the boat to finish the trip back.

As someone who lives near Yellowstone, I didn't expect a national park in Germany to wow me this much. It was breathtaking ❤️❤️

If you're visiting Bavaria, don't skip Berchtesgaden!!

BONUS TIP: Purchase your boat tickets in advance, as they can sell out during busy seasons.

Have you been to Königssee? 👇🏼

Limited-time offer!!

Earn a $250 bonus with a $0 annual fee card 💳

The Chase Freedom Flex has a limited-time elevated offer: $250 after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months! Chase says it's ending soon, with no end date listed, so don't wait if you've been thinking about it ⏰

Why we love the Freedom cards:
✔️ 5% back on rotating categories each quarter (activate every quarter!)
✔️ Right now (Oct–Dec): grocery stores, dining (7% on the Flex!), and Red Cross donations. Activate by Dec 14
✔️ Next quarter (Jan–Mar 2027): grocery stores again + top streaming services!
✔️ 3% on dining + drugstores, 5% on Chase Travel
✔️ No foreign transaction fees
✔️ $0 annual fee

⭐ The points secret: Pair it with a Chase Sapphire card, and your "cash back" becomes Ultimate Rewards points you can transfer to Hyatt and airlines. That's how 5% back turns into free travel!

My husband has the original Freedom card (no longer available), and we love using the rotating 5x categories to earn points on things we already buy, like groceries and dining 🛒

Good to know:
✔️ You can't get the bonus if you've received one on this card in the past 24 months
✔️ Chase's 5/24 rule can affect approval
✔️ Always pay your balance in full. Interest wipes out rewards!

👆 My referral link is in my bio. It opens to the Freedom Unlimited first, so tap the Freedom Flex tab! (I may earn a referral bonus if you're approved. Not financial advice, so choose what's right for you.)

Our favorite use of our IHG free night certificate so far 🦬😍

We used it at the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone, just 1 minute from Yellowstone’s West Entrance! We booked it on a Tuesday for that Friday and turned it into a one-day Yellowstone adventure.

We only live an hour and a half from Yellowstone, but it was so nice to stay the night before and not have as much driving all in one day!

Staying so close meant we were watching the sunrise over the river before most people got in 🌅

💳 How it works:
The IHG One Rewards Premier card gives you a free night certificate every year on your card anniversary. It covers a night worth up to 40,000 points, and you can add your own points to use it at pricier hotels.

💡 Tips:
✔️ Look for hotels where cash rates are high but the points price fits your certificate. That’s where you get the best value!
✔️ Certificates can work for last-minute trips too, so check availability before you assume it’s booked
✔️ Watch your expiration date so it doesn’t go to waste

Where would you use a free night? 👇

📌 Save this for your next Yellowstone trip!

I can’t believe this happened in Yellowstone!!

My husband grew up about an hour from Yellowstone and has been more times than he can count… but he had never seen Beehive Geyser erupt. 🐝

Beehive has no set schedule. It can go a day or more between eruptions, sometimes weeks. And when it goes, it’s huge: 150–200 feet, taller than Old Faithful.

We got lucky!!! We were patiently waiting for Old Faithful to erupt, and suddenly Beehive erupted with a rainbow 🌈, and then Old Faithful went off right after… and we could see both from right where we were standing! It was awesome 🤩

💡 Tip: Watch Beehive’s Indicator, the little geyser right next to it. It usually starts spouting 15–20 minutes before Beehive erupts. If you see it going, stay put!

Have you ever caught a geyser eruption you weren’t expecting? 👇
