Exploring Boracayโs Famous & Hidden Gems by Land Tour
If you want to discover Boracay beyond White Beach, renting a motorbike or e-trike is the best way to explore both famous landmarks and hidden gems of the island. I did just that and embarked on a quick yet unforgettable land tour.
1. Lugutan Bay โ The Mangrove Area
My first stop was Lugutan Bay, also known as the Mangrove Area. This serene spot is not only picturesque but also plays a vital role in the environment. Mangroves protect our seas by preventing coastal erosion, serving as a natural barrier against strong waves, and providing a habitat for marine life. They are essential for maintaining the islandโs ecological balance.
2. Bolabog Beach โ The Kiteboarding Capital & The Lying Coconut Tree
I then headed to Bolabog Beach, internationally known as the kiteboarding and windsurfing capital of the Philippines. Aside from thrilling water sports, Bolabog now boasts the longest boardwalk on the island and a huge 'Boracay Island' print perfect for photo ops.
Here, I also found the Lying Coconut Tree, a unique natural wonder that has become a popular spot for photos. This leaning palm tree, set against the stunning backdrop of Bolabog Beach, is a must-visit for those looking to capture a different side of Boracay.
3. Boracay Grotto โ The Iconic Landmark
No trip to Boracay is complete without visiting the famous Boracay Grotto (Willyโs Rock). This landmark is one of the most photographed places on the island, often featured in promotional materials. They say, โIf you donโt have a photo here, you havenโt been to Boracay!โ So, of course, I made sure to capture the moment.
4. Sinagpa Beach โ A Hidden Gem at the End of Station 1
For the final stop, I went to Sinagpa Beach, located at the far end of Station 1. I discovered a laid-back beach bar, the perfect place to chill until sundown. The sunset here was breathtaking, with golden hues reflecting off the calm waters.
Another exciting find was the Lapus-Lapus Cave, which looks like a keyhole carved in Yapak. Many tourists were eagerly taking photos inside, captivated by the stunning ocean view framed by the rock formation. This spot is truly Instagrammable and unforgettable.
Wrapping Up My Journey
This one-hour land tour gave me a fresh perspective on Boracay, beyond its famous White Beach. I ended the adventure by relaxing at Sinagpa Beachโs laid-back bar, soaking in the island vibes.
Boracay has so much more to offer, and if you want to see both its famous icons and hidden gems, this land tour is definitely worth trying!
