Nozawa Onsen Guest Appreciation Festival coming up on March 20 (Friday), fun time to be in the village.
The Hatoguruma Cup will be the same day on the mountain, usually finishing up outside of The Craft Room and the night festival will start at 7:30 PM.
There will be plenty of activities, including free soup and doburoku (unrefined sake), a performance by the Dosojin Taiko drum group, a parade showcasing the history of skiing, and a rock-paper-scissors tournament with fantastic prizes! *Please note that the free soup and doburoku are available in limited quantities.
The parade showcasing the history of skiing is a delightful spectacle, allowing participants to march down Oyu Street dressed in skiing attire and equipment from different eras, offering a fun way to learn about history!
We have a wide variety of items, from skis carved from wood and bamboo poles to traditional Japanese clothing and modern ski wear, so please come and experience all eras! 😁
