Our beloved Blíða passed away very unexpectedly few days ago.
Blíða was big, strong, and always in excellent health. We thought she might even live as long as her mother, Aska, but instead, she left us just like her father, Reykur. Blíða refused to eat for a few day, then, on August 1st, she lay down and never got up again.
Blíða came from our first litter, she left home but remained a frequent visitor and eventually moved back in with us at the age of six.
Despite joining the pack as an adult, she stepped up, and for the last year, she served as the pack's lead female. She never needed to make a fuss, yet she still played her part in raising the younger dogs.
It is always hard to say goodbye to a good friend, but now our Blíða is running free in the Land of Eternity with a growing part of her family ❤️
