A good opportunity for a last-minute trip to Forte dei Marmi.

This classic six-bedroom villa sits in a prime position directly across the road from the beach and remains available until the end of June. Sitting on the grounds of a prestigious Tuscan hotel estate, this petite 250 sq.m villa is a good idea for a small family who wants a private house with proper hospitality close at hand.

There are three en-suite bedrooms for up to six adults and one child, an open living and dining area with a fireplace, a Carrara-marble kitchen, and a terrace looking over the hills and olive groves. Outside, guests have a 500 sq.m private garden, jasmine-covered pergola, summer kitchen and wood-burning oven.

The estate infrastructure gives it what a standalone villa cannot: three restaurants, a bar, spa, fitness centre, tennis and padel courts, wine cellar, plus a number of complimentary experiences such as wine tasting, focaccia-making, Negroni classes and much more.

If you are still looking for a nice villa for late August, take a look at this one on Corfu.

Part of a small waterfront estate, this four-bedroom villa is the closest to the lovely sandy beach below. Reasonably priced and smartly planned over three pavilions, it offers upper-floor verandas with sweeping sea views, plus an open-air lounge and dining area surrounded by terraced herb gardens.

Inside, low, bulky furniture sits against white walls, tall wood-beamed ceilings and stone-paved floors, complemented by contemporary designer pieces and vintage finds. The master bedroom suite has its own gated courtyard with an outdoor bath. There is also a tennis court and a jetty shared with the neighbouring villa.

With only two weeks remaining available this season, we would recommend booking this house for next year in advance.

Alentejo and Comporta are often called the European Hamptons, thanks to their sandy dunes, wide Atlantic beaches and laid-back, bohemian mood.

A short walk from Praia do Pego, one of the area’s favourite beaches, we have this colourful 550 sq.m cabana-style villa that fits the region well. Six suites, polished cement floors, exposed wood, bright details, folding glass doors and an easy connection between the living room, terrace, pool and countryside views.

With Carvalhal nearby and Comporta village just a short drive away for boutiques, restaurants, bars and rice-field sunsets, it makes a very good HQ to explore the region, go to the beach, or do very little at all. Perfect for up to 12-14 guests.
