King Harald 🤴was born in 1937, the first prince born in our beloved Norway in 567 years. But he isn’t known only for that; in fact, for so much more than that. He was known for his resilience during the war, for choosing to break with tradition and stay with the love of his life - a commoner - but above all, for his great speech explaining what Norway truly is: yes, our mountains, our fjords, our adventures, our love of nature, the midnight sun, but above all, Norway is people.

Through him we learned that Norway goes beyond borders, origins, and creeds; That being Norwegian was never about where you come from, but about belonging. He worried that no one would feel excluded, he loved our built nation, he valued each and every one of us.

So thank you, King Harald. Thank you for decades of a reign guided not by distance from the throne, but by closeness to us. Thank you for reminding us, with humility and courage, that a nation is not measured by its landscape or its wealth, but by the care we have for one another. Thank you for making the crown a symbol of unity, not division. Thank you for passing on your values to us.

Nature, history and local flavors - all from the seat of an e-bike 🚵‍♀️.

Our guided e-bike tour takes you through some of the most beautiful stretches around Vik, starting with a visit to the Hopperstad Stave Church; the second oldest stave church in Norway 🇳🇴⛪️.

Along the way, you’ll pass ancient burial mounds with fascinating archaeological history, stop by the Vikøyri beach dweller settlement, and visit a home still standing from the old days 🛖.

And of course, a taste of “gamalost,” 🧀 an ancient Norwegian cheese with roots in the Viking Age, paired with our local raspberry juice 🥤.
