The beauty and diverse experiences of Misamis Oriental continue to captivate the international tourism market as travel agents and media representatives from South Korea journey through some of the province’s featured tourism destinations!

During their familiarization tour, the delegates visited Lohas Aqua Resort, where they experienced the thrill of helmet diving and discovered the exciting possibilities of marine adventure tourism. They also visited the Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador City, a significant pilgrimage destination offering a place for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

From exhilarating underwater adventures to meaningful spiritual encounters, Misamis Oriental showcases a diverse range of tourism experiences that cater to different interests and travel preferences.

Through this initiative, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, under the leadership of Governor Juliette T. Uy, continues to strengthen the province’s international tourism presence, build global partnerships, and open new opportunities for tourism investments and visitor arrivals.

Strengthening Misamis Oriental’s presence in the international tourism landscape, the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, under the leadership of Governor Juliette T. Uy, warmly welcomes travel agents and media representatives from South Korea for a Familiarization Tour across Misamis Oriental, Cagayan de Oro City, and Bukidnon.

From September 30 to October 3, 2026, our Korean guests will experience the destinations, culture, flavors, adventures, and warm hospitality that make Northern Mindanao a compelling destination for international travelers.

The tour provides an opportunity to build stronger tourism connections between Korea and Northern Mindanao, while showcasing the diverse experiences and tourism potential of Misamis Oriental as a gateway to unforgettable journeys.

As part of the province’s warm welcome, Governor Juliette T. Uy will host a Governor’s Night on October 2, bringing together tourism stakeholders and our Korean guests for an evening of meaningful connections, cultural exchange, and shared opportunities.

Students from schools across Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental gathered at Unity Hall, Provincial Capitol Compound, for the Tourism Awareness Seminar, featuring Mr. Rico Libre as resource speaker.

Through meaningful conversations and fresh perspectives, the seminar highlighted how tourism creates opportunities, strengthens communities, preserves culture, and gives every destination a story worth sharing.

Because tourism is more than visiting places—it is about connecting people, celebrating identity, and creating opportunities for communities.
