🇮🇹 Traveller’s Tales Issue 07 | Rome & Sorrento

Some holidays are about the destinations. Others are about the memories made along the way.

For Stephanie & Loretta, this 9-day Italian adventure was all about friendship, discovery and experiencing two very different sides of Italy together. From the timeless streets of Rome and the wonders of Pompeii to the breathtaking coastline and relaxed charm of Sorrento, every day offered something special.

The journey was seamless from start to finish, with flights, hotels, rail travel and private transfers carefully arranged through Citalia Holidays , alongside excursions to the Vatican and Pompeii booked through Expedia
Even the private drivers added to the experience, often sharing local knowledge and pointing out sights along the way!

There were plenty of memorable moments, from staying in a room Hotel Amalfi Rome featuring a ceiling inspired by the Sistine Chapel, to relaxing in an attic room Hotel Minerva Sorrento with a cosy window seat and uninterrupted sea views.

As Stephanie shared:
“Very well organised travel arrangements, good locations for both hotels and very helpful and friendly staff. Amazing things to see, good food and lots of shopping.”

✨ Looking back on a lovely trip from earlier this year...

Rosie and Matt spent a few days in the Costa del Sol back in May, celebrating a milestone birthday for Rosie.

I was delighted to arrange a little surprise for their arrival, with a bottle of prosecco waiting in their room to help start the celebrations. 🥂

Judging by the photos, there was plenty of sunshine, relaxation and quality time together too.

A special birthday and some wonderful memories made along the way. 💙

And sometimes it is cheaper and quicker too.

But there is something many people do not realise.
When you book a holiday, commission is built into the price either way.
The difference is whether that commission goes to a large booking company, or to supporting a small, independent travel business.

When you book with me, you are choosing personal service, honest advice, and someone who looks after the details and is there if plans change.

Sometimes you don’t need a big adventure, you just need a break.
 A pause.
 10 days where life slows down and you can simply be.

For this edition of The Traveller’s Tales, my travellers were ready for exactly that. Time away from work, routines, and responsibilities. Time together, somewhere warm, calm and effortless.

So we chose Agadir.  Long beaches. Soft sunsets. An all‑inclusive stay where everything was taken care of.

Caravans to Cruises presents: THE TRAVELLER’S TALES #04

For this Iceland adventure, my travellers had one very clear thing on their bucket list — seeing the Northern Lights.

It wasn’t just about ticking off a destination.
 It was about experiencing something they had talked about for years. Something magical.

They wanted it to feel seamless, not overwhelming.

So together, we shaped a trip around what mattered most to them.

I organised their flights, car rental so they could explore at their own pace, their hotel in Reykjavík, and carefully selected activities — including their Northern Lights experience.

From sunrise views at their hotel, to soaking in the Blue Lagoon, to standing under the Aurora… it was everything they had hoped for.

They’ve returned home saying it was amazing and magical — and they’re still talking about Iceland now.

Sometimes the best investment isn’t another “thing”.

It’s a moment you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
