IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GUESTS BOOKING TOURS ON EXTERNAL SITES:
We recently had a family come into our shop who had purchased tickets through the site "FeverUp" which is a Viator affiliate. They had purchased tickets for a time that we do NOT offer, and it was only after coming in for the time they thought their tour was, and looking at the tickets that they saw fine print with our correct time listed on their confirmation.
Due to the monopoly TripAdvisor/Viator has on bookings online, we agreed to sell tickets through their service. We integrate with them so they know what tickets we have available.
These external sites we have no control over, and after speaking to both Fever and Viator, they have no ability to easily fix this issue. This happened two days ago, we called the company and Viator immediately after this family left and we refunded their tickets, and they STILL have not fixed the issue despite us giving them every piece of information they needed from us.
We are pleading with guests, not just with us, but wherever you go to book an experience, please do it directly with the business' own site, or at the very least verify that the company offers the product or time you have looked at. If you book directly, you are likely saving money, and the whole ticket purchase supports the independent business, not a massive corporation that takes a huge cut of the sale.
Any time you have questions, it is always best to contact the company directly!
Please share, if this could go viral it would help so many service people in the tourism industry!
