It's a wonderful season to view and photograph Little Bittern on our boat trip. Starting at first light, it's possible to encounter multiple birds along the banks of the river before the heat of the day kicks in. Both adult and juvenile plumages are on display during August.

One of our favourite species to photograph year round is the Black Wheatear. Although quite scarce, this bird remains faithful to its territories, usually close to rocky cliffs and ledges in dry mountainous terrain. Careful observation of favoured perches from distance, combined with the use of pop up hides allows us to get close enough to get the shots 📸

Careful image exposure is necessary owing to the contrasting black and white in the plumage!
