La GLP-1 ha ganado mucha atención en los últimos años, pero ¿qué relación podría tener con la endometriosis?

La GLP-1 es una hormona producida principalmente en el intestino que participa en la regulación de la glucosa, la insulina, la saciedad y otros procesos metabólicos. Investigaciones emergentes están explorando su posible relación con la inflamación y la endometriosis, aunque todavía se necesita mucha más evidencia para comprender esta conexión.

Más allá de los medicamentos agonistas de GLP-1, existen hábitos cotidianos que favorecen la salud metabólica e intestinal, como priorizar proteínas de calidad, consumir fibra y prebióticos según tolerancia, evitar picos frecuentes de glucosa, cuidar la microbiota, mantenerse en movimiento y tener un descanso adecuado.

Importante: los medicamentos agonistas de GLP-1 no son un tratamiento establecido para la endometriosis y no son adecuados para todas las personas. Antes de iniciar cualquier medicamento, suplemento o hacer cambios importantes en tu alimentación, habla con tu médico, especialmente si ya estás siguiendo un tratamiento para endometriosis.
