🏕️ Davy Crockett Ranch — our honest family review!

We really enjoyed our stay here, and for us, the space + peaceful setting were the biggest wins. 🌲

✨ What we loved:
🏡 Cabins sleeping up to 6
🛏️ 2 bedrooms + 2 shower rooms
🍳 Fully equipped kitchen + full-size fridge/freezer
🏊 Brilliant pool with slide, lazy river & kids’ pool
🎮 Arcade, playground & mini golf
🍽️ Breakfast & dinner buffet
🛍️ Shop + plenty of Disney merch
🚗 Free parking & Extra Magic Time
🌲 A peaceful escape after busy days in the parks

⚠️ Things to consider:
🚽 Only 1 toilet for up to 6 people
🚗 You need your own car
🏰 Around 10 minutes’ drive from the parks, so it isn’t as convenient as staying within walking distance.

For us, having somewhere calm to come back to after the parks was a huge bonus. ❤️

Would you stay at Davy Crockett Ranch? 👇

📌 Save this for your next Disneyland Paris trip!

💸 Want to get some of your VAT back on your Disneyland Paris shopping?

After our recent trip, we got over £80 back using SkipTax — so I’ve put together this step-by-step guide to help you understand how it works! 🏰✨

There are a few important things to know before you start:

📱 Download and set up the SkipTax app before your trip

🧾 Keep your receipts for eligible purchases. Remember, the items need to be eligible goods that you are taking home with you and keeping UNUSED — food and drinks aren’t included.

🏰 Shopping inside Disneyland Paris? Their receipts are already set up for the SkipTax system.

🚨 Shopping in Disney Village? Retailers such as LEGO and POP MART aren’t automatically set up in the same way, so make sure you ask for a specific SkipTax receipt/invoice when you make your purchase.

📲 Upload your receipts to the SkipTax app and follow the instructions.

🇫🇷 Before you leave France, you’ll need to complete the required validation at a PABLO tax-refund kiosk using your SkipTax barcode.

👮‍♀️ And don’t forget: your purchases may need to be presented to French Customs for inspection, so make sure you keep the eligible goods with you and in the required unused condition until you’ve completed the process.

💸 Once everything has been validated, you can sit back and wait for your refund!

And for us, that meant over £80 back! 🤯

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Tax-free shopping eligibility, rules and the SkipTax process can change. Always check the latest information directly with SkipTax and French Customs before travelling and before making your purchases.

This guide is based on our own experience using SkipTax at Disneyland Paris and is intended as a helpful starting point.

HOW WE GOT £80+ BACK FROM DISNEYLAND PARIS SHOPPING! 🏰✨

Did you know you may be able to claim back some of the VAT on eligible shopping in France using SkipTax?

We used it on our recent Disneyland Paris trip and got over £80 back! 🤯💸

Here’s the basic process 👇

📱 1. Download & set up the SkipTax app before your trip

🛍️ 2. Shop & keep your eligible receipts
Your purchases need to be eligible for tax-free shopping and, importantly, the goods need to be unused and being taken home with you. Food and drinks aren’t included.

🧾 3. Disneyland Paris makes it easy
Receipts from Disneyland Paris stores are already set up for the SkipTax system, so you don’t normally need to request a separate SkipTax invoice there.

⚠️ BUT — Disney Village is different!
Some of the other retailers aren’t automatically set up for SkipTax. For example, if you’re shopping at LEGO or POP MART, make sure you ask for a specific SkipTax invoice/receipt at the time of purchase. A standard receipt may not be enough.

📲 4. Upload your receipts/invoices to the SkipTax app

🛂 5. Before leaving France, follow the app’s instructions and scan your SkipTax barcode at a PABLO tax-refund kiosk

💸 6. Wait for your refund!

And voilà… £80+ back! ✨

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Tax-free shopping rules, eligibility and the SkipTax process can change, so always check the latest information directly with SkipTax and the French customs authorities before your trip. This is based on our experience and the process we followed.

📌 SAVE this for your next Disneyland Paris shopping trip!

✨ 30 days until we’re back at Disneyland Paris… and we honestly can’t wait! 🏰💙

This trip is going to be extra special for so many reasons.

🎉 It’ll be mine and my husband’s birthday while we’re there (yes… we really do share the same birthday! 😅🥳), so we’ve got some exciting celebrations planned.

🏡 We’ll be staying in one of the newly refurbished lodges at Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. We loved our last visit here so we’re excited to see all the changes they’ve made!

❄️ We’ll finally get to see World of Frozen and experience all the incredible changes at the newly renamed Adventure World for the very first time.

👑 We’ve also booked a character breakfast at the beautiful Regal View Restaurant, and I can’t wait to share whether it’s worth it! Especially with fussy eaters!

❤️ And perhaps the most special part of all… we’re taking my mother-in-law back to Disneyland Paris for the first time in many years. Seeing the magic through her eyes is going to be something really special.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing tips, outfit planning, ride updates and, of course, lots of magical moments while we’re there. If you’re planning your own trip—or just love a bit of Disney magic—make sure you’re following along! ✨

💬 I’d love to know… if you could do just ONE thing at Disneyland Paris on your next visit, what would it be? Or, if you’ve already been, what’s the one thing you never miss? Let me know in the comments! 👇

🎢 Our honest review of Gulliver’s World…

If you’re wondering whether Gulliver’s World is worth visiting with your family, here’s what we really thought after our visit.

It’s a theme park that’s clearly designed with younger families in mind, and while there were things we absolutely loved, there were also a few areas where we felt it could be improved.

In this review I’m sharing:
✨ What we loved
🎠 The rides and attractions
💷 Whether we think it’s good value for money
👨‍👩‍👦 Who we’d recommend it for

Every family is different, so what didn’t matter to us might not bother you at all—and vice versa. My aim is always to give you an honest, balanced review so you can decide whether it’s the right day out for your family.

Have you been to Gulliver’s World? I’d love to know if you agree with our thoughts or if your experience was different! 👇

🇩🇰 Planning a trip to Copenhagen with kids? Save this post for later!

If you’re looking for a European city break that’s easy to explore with children, Copenhagen should be at the top of your list.

We spent 4 days discovering colourful streets, incredible playgrounds, castles, delicious bakeries and one of the world’s oldest amusement parks – and honestly, we could have stayed even longer!

Here’s what we got up to:

✨ Day 1: Nyhavn, Frederik’s Church, The Little Mermaid, the Genetically Modified Little Mermaid and Kastellet.

🎢 Day 2: A full day at Tivoli Gardens (trust me… you’ll want all day!).

🛍️ Day 3: City Hall, LEGO shopping, Changing of the Guard, Glyptoteket, Gasoline Grill and Tivoli Food Hall.

🏰 Day 4: Rosenborg Castle, The King’s Garden, the Botanical Garden, Freetown Christiania and one last delicious pizza before heading home.

💡 A few of our favourite tips:
• Book Tivoli ride wristbands online before you visit.
• Make personalised LEGO minifigures at the Tivoli LEGO Store – they’re a brilliant souvenir!
• Visit Glyptoteket on the last Wednesday of the month for free entry.
• Explore Christiania during the daytime and be mindful of the no-photography signs in certain areas.

Copenhagen completely exceeded our expectations. It felt safe, clean, easy to get around and was packed with things to do for both adults and children. It’s definitely one of our favourite family city breaks.

👇 Have you been to Copenhagen with kids?

I’d love to know your favourite places or any hidden gems we should add to our itinerary next time!

I started this account to help others discover magical holidays whether that be a trip to Disneyland Paris, Disney World or Efteling

As a family we love visiting theme parks on our holidays and I love sharing the magic with others. I’ve learnt lots over the years from our many trips to both Disneyland Paris and Disney World as well as numerous visits to Efteling in the Netherlands.

I love planning our magical adventures, from researching the rides and attractions, planning outfits, discovering what yummy food is on offer and compiling it all in a spreadsheet haha! 😂

Friends and colleagues would always comment on the wonderful holidays we have as a family and I wanted a way to share the places we visit, the things we’ve learnt and the magic that can be had with others so I created Don of a Kind Adventures at the beginning of the year to do just that.

So why not follow along for tips and tricks for magical family holidays ✨
