The greed in the Virgin Islands continues and will not stop. Bvi just announced that for the next upcoming season charter boats from the U.S. virgin islands will have to pay a $8500 fee per for day charters and $24,000 for term / week long charters. . Where right now it’s $300 per year . Our “ goverment in the Us Vi” does nothing and allows the Bvi to do what they want while Bvi charter boats come into our territory and pick up guest and transport them to their territory “ Bvi” with zero fees they pay in the USVI. Hmm Where does all that money go to Bvi ! We already pay the Bvi goverment millions of dollars with all the customs fees when we check in .
Its destroys my soul on the greed the Bvi goverment mindset. All Bvi goverment wants is money and not to make things better between the territories . I remember how Usvi donated time from myself, charter boat companies , aviation companies , local citizens and helped Bvi after we all got devasted by Hurricane Irma . While we all had no power and no income we still went over and helped the Bvi . I speak with the Bvi locals, Bvi business owners and they have no saying at all the Bvi goverment does what they want for themselves and their corrupted ways and poor management of their system .
Prices will keep going up on charter boats and term charter boats. Some will even move off island cause all of this greed and tension.
USVI Goverment stand up and make things right between both islands.
