☀️ A lovely week at Creta Paradise, Crete 🇬🇷
Our honest review!
We’ve had a really lovely week here at Creta Paradise and I’m so pleased we chose to come away in October, especially with the storms back home!
First up, the weather! ☀️
October is a lovely time to visit Crete, but you definitely can’t guarantee hot sunshine every day. We’ve had some lovely weather, but it’s worth remembering that this is the end of the season and things around the area are starting to close.
The hotel 🏨
The hotel itself is beautiful! There are loads of gorgeous rooms, including swim-up rooms and rooms with private pools.
I’m REALLY glad we chose a hot tub room though, because none of the pools are heated! 🥶
If you’re travelling in the shoulder season, particularly April, May, September or October, I think you’d have to be pretty brave to spend much time in the water!
Families 👨👩👧👦
This is where I think Creta Paradise really shines!
I would absolutely recommend this hotel for families with children of all ages, from tiny tots right through to older teenagers.
There’s a fantastic aquapark attached to the hotel, but it’s not in your face, so you don’t feel like you’re staying in the middle of a waterpark!
You’re also right on the beach, which is another massive plus.
We’ve noticed lots of multigenerational families here too. Grandparents, aunties, uncles, parents and children all holidaying together, and it seems to work brilliantly. There’s plenty of space for everyone to sit together in the evenings, have drinks, play cards and just enjoy being together.
Food and drink 🍕🍹
For a large all-inclusive hotel, the food has been really, really good!
There’s loads of choice, everything feels fresh and the quality has genuinely impressed us.
You also get one visit per week to the Italian à la carte restaurant.
The bars are lovely and the drinks are good too.
Personally, I would definitely recommend booking all-inclusive here. There aren’t loads of restaurants and bars immediately outside the hotel, so it’s not somewhere I’d choose if I wanted to wander out somewhere different for dinner every evening.
Location 📍
The nearest little town is Platanias, about a 15 to 20-minute walk away.
It’s not a particularly pretty walk though, more of a walk along a main road than a lovely harbourfront stroll!
The good news is that the bus is really easy and costs around €2, so getting out and about isn’t difficult.
Entertainment and evenings 🎶
This is probably the biggest thing I’d say when helping someone decide whether this hotel is right for them.
For families, the entertainment and facilities are great.
For couples travelling on their own, particularly at this time of year, it’s a different story.
The evenings have been pretty chilled, so you definitely need to really like the person you’re travelling with because you’re going to be doing a fair bit of talking to each other! 😂❤️
It’s not somewhere I’d recommend to a couple looking for lots of evening atmosphere, bars and entertainment.
But for families wanting quality time together, or a big family group enjoying a holiday with all the generations, I think it works really well.
Our overall verdict ❤️
We’ve had a lovely week and I’m really pleased we came.
It’s a beautiful hotel, the food is great, the beach location is fantastic and the family facilities are brilliant.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely!
But, as I always say when helping people choose their holidays, it’s about finding the right hotel for YOU, not just a hotel with good reviews.
For a family holiday, particularly in the warmer summer months, I’d happily recommend Creta Paradise.
For couples wanting to explore on foot, enjoy pretty evening strolls and have lots of restaurants and bars on the doorstep, I’d probably suggest somewhere else.
And that’s exactly why I love being a travel advisor. The little details really do make all the difference! 💚✈️
