International Cat Day.

It’s time to celebrate.

Pamper your furry feline friends on International Cat Day, visit big cats at the zoo, or consider taking the plunge and adopting one of these wonderful creatures.

International Cat Day is a full 24 hours of recognition and veneration for one of humanity’s oldest and most beloved pets–the cat! If they would lower themselves to have a conversation with a mere human, any cat would probably say that every day should be a day for celebrating cats all over the world. But this is one particular day that the humans have set aside each year for that purpose.

🐒 CRUELTY TO MONKEYS

We’re saddened by the growing reports of monkeys being shot with pellet guns and marbles in our area. This is not only cruel and inhumane, it’s illegal.

👉 Shooting wildlife in a built-up area is a criminal offense, carrying penalties of up to 5 years in prison.

These sentient animals are often left badly injured, suffering slow and painful deaths. This behaviour has no place in our community.

At The Windsock , we value our environment and its wildlife. We’ve been working closely with Wildlife Rescue to support injured animals and raise awareness.

📞 If you witness cruelty or find an injured animal, please contact Lindy Elmes on +27 83 607 4498 immediately. She is part of a dedicated team working to rescue and rehabilitate these animals.

Let’s keep Ballito and Salt Rock safe and compassionate.

We were honoured to be nominated for Best Holiday Accommodation in this year’s Best of Ballito awards. We are super grateful to everyone who voted for us!

Although we didn’t place in the top 3, we’re proud to be a small, exclusive retreat that prioritises quality over quantity. With only a few lucky guests at a time, we simply don’t rack up the same volume of votes as the bigger resorts - and that’s okay. Our goal has never been to be the biggest, just to be your favourite place to breathe and unwind for the whole family (including your pets). 🌊🐾
