Dear African Footprints Family,
As 2025 draws to a close, it feels like the right time to pause and reflect on the ebbs and flows of the year that’s been.
It has been an extraordinary year for — filled with remarkable journeys, unforgettable moments, and meaningful connections. It has also been a deeply personal year for our family, marked by loss, when we said goodbye to our incredible matriarch, my mom, in February.
My mom was the person who first introduced me to the bush. She nurtured my love for wild places and Africa’s beautiful creatures, and she shaped the way I see the world. She was open-hearted, wildly playful, strong yet soft, and she loved Africa above all else.
As we reflect, we hold the lessons she taught us close. Her legacy lives on in everything we do — introducing Africa to the world and reconnecting people to the heart and soul of this continent. Because when you truly love something, you protect it. Above all else, that belief sits at the core of African Footprints.
This year has also reminded us that while we find connection in sacred places, ancient trees, and wide open landscapes, we remain connected beyond time and physical space — to our roots, our ancestors, and to Mother Earth herself.
My mom’s nickname was Mama Africa. How fitting that at African Footprints, our deepest wish is simply for the world to meet Mother Africa — to feel her spirit, her beauty, and her power.
Thank you, Mom, for the foundations that created this business. Your legacy lives on through us, and we hope that when you travel with African Footprints, you feel her immense spirit too.
From all of us at African Footprints, thank you — sincerely — for your trust, your support, and for being part of our journey. We are incredibly grateful for the growth, connection, and success we’ve experienced in 2025, and we can’t wait to take you on your next adventure in 2026.
Live gently.
Live adventurously.
Leave only footprints.
With love and gratitude,
Brett & Domi Roux
