And just like that, our incredible journey comes to an end! ❤️
Our final stop before heading home was Doha’s spectacular Hamad International Airport — and what an airport it is! From the world-class shopping and impressive selection of restaurants to the beautiful, modern surroundings, every detail makes travelling an experience in itself. 🛍️🍽️
A special mention to Qatar Airways for making our journey from Johannesburg to Rome, and our return from Athens, so memorable. From the comfortable aircraft and excellent onboard experience to the outstanding service and attention to detail, they truly know how to make you feel taken care of. ✨✈️

The UK is introducing new contactless technology at airport eGates, making the arrival process potentially quicker and more seamless for eligible travellers.
✨ What does this mean for you?
📸 Facial recognition technology – eligible travellers may be able to pass through eGates without presenting their passports at the gate.
🛂 Automated checks – your photo will be compared with verified travel, passport and immigration information.
👮 Additional checks may still apply – you could be asked to scan your passport or speak to a Border Force officer.
📅 Rolling out now! – the phased introduction began on 6 October 2026, with all UK eGates expected to be upgraded by early 2027.
📍 Airports included in the rollout feature Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and more.

🇬🇷 Athens, what a beautiful way to end our European adventure! ❤️

Our last two days were spent wandering through a city where ancient history meets modern life. From the breathtaking Acropolis, standing proudly above the city, to the charming little streets of Plaka, every corner had a story to tell.

✨ Beautiful architecture, rich culture, fascinating history, and the most amazing Greek food — from delicious souvlaki to traditional Greek flavours that make you want to come back for more! 🍽️

Athens has a soul of its own. It's in the lively streets, the little hidden gems, the warm atmosphere, and the feeling that history is all around you.

Two days felt far too short, but what a wonderful final chapter to an unforgettable journey through Europe. 🇮🇹🚢🇬🇷

Leaving with a full heart, a camera full of photos, and that familiar feeling of wishing we had just a little more time. ✨

Some places stay with you long after you’ve left, and I think Athens will be one of them. 🇬🇷💙
