Another Outeniqua Has Fallen. Some people don't simply live in a place — they become part of its story.

For generations of visitors, friends and fellow nature lovers, Bennett Van Rensburg was inseparable from the magic of Harkerville Forest Lodge and the beautiful Harkerville forests of the Outeniqua region.

Bennett grew up on the family property, surrounded by the Knysna Forest. Together with Anette, he spent decades building Harkerville Forest Lodge into a special place where people could gather, rest, explore and experience the peace of the forest.

Annette, Altima, Nolandi and Benita and families — our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Bennett's passing leaves an empty place, not only within his family, but also among those who knew him and the special world he helped create.

You will truly be missed, Bennett.

May the forests he loved continue to whisper his story through the trees, and may his memory live on in every trail, every gathering and every person whose life was touched by Harkerville.
