Please find below updates regarding Unabridged certificates.
With South Africa being on Level 3, Home affairs will not accept any new applications.
Prior to COVID-19, Home affairs faced backlog of over 2 million applications for Unabridged certificates.
Due to COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions, Home affairs have been understaffed and is still not operating at full capacity.
From September 2020 Home affairs has been flooded with new Applications, this is placing even more strain on them.
Level 3 update from Home affairs, is that they will no longer be accepting new applications.
If your application was submitted before we went back into Level 3, we can address and escalate status with Home affairs. We at All4Travel are able to escalate your request with Home affairs, if application was summitted before going into Level 3.
We are continuously following up and escalating your documents/certificates status and will keep you informed of any progress.
Home Affairs will only assist with the following under level 3:
1. Registration of Birth
2. Re-issue of Birth Certificates (if previous unabridged was issued)
3. Late Registration of birth (by appointment only)
4. Marriage Services
5. Registration of death
6. Death Certificates (for new deaths)
7. Temporary of ID certificates
8. Collection of ID’s only
9. Passport submission and collection only for people in the cross border essential good (cargo) and medicines
No ID Smart Card and Passport (for normal travelers) applications (Submission and collection)
