Both parks have the Big Five. Both work brilliantly. But they suit completely different trips — and knowing the difference will shape your whole itinerary.

Pilanesberg is 2 hours from Johannesburg, malaria-free, and ideal for 1–3 days — especially if you’re travelling with kids or building it into a shorter trip.

Kruger rewards the extra travel time. Give it 4+ days and you get more wildlife, more wilderness, and some of the best budget safari options in Africa — camping from under $100/day.
