* A fascinating specie that plays a crucial role in its ecosystem. It's impressive size, striking appearance, and remarkable fishing abilities make it a standout in African birdlife.

-- A DAZZLE OF ZEBRA --

* Predators see in black and white as they do not have to distinguish between something being poisonous or ripe.

* So when a predator comes into the Zebra territory, they all gather together and form what is known as a 'Dazzle'.

* This way, the predator can not see one from the other, as they all blend together, forming an illusion of one massive animal.

* And to add more confusion, little ones are born with the same length of legs as their parents.

-- THE MAJESTIC AFRICAN FISH EAGLE --

* Found throughout sub-Saharan Africa, the African Fish Eagle is the national bird of Malawi, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

* Belonging to the Haliaeetus genus of sea eagles. This is one of the most ancient genera among all living birds.

* With a wingspan around 2m, their nests can be quite large, reaching 2m across and 1.2m deep, built mostly of sticks and other pieces of wood..

* Incubation last around 42 to 45 days, and those that survive their first year have a life expectancy of 12 to 24 years...

* A fish eagle’s toes are coated in sharp barbs, called spiricules, which consequently helps it to grasp fish and other slippery prey., ranging from 1kg - 4kg in size....

* Truly a magnificent specimen....

• On land, Cape fur seals sleep a bit like us - they snooze, and occasionally, they grumpily open an eye to look around for predators.

• Life on this island protects them from any land attacks, so it's all easy living right here.

• But don't be fooled. Dangers lurks beneath.

• The gestation period for a Cape fur seal is only eight months, but the females can delay their pregnancies for three to four months - ensuring that their birth will line up for the next year's summer.
