Photographing jaguars in Brazil offers one of the most rewarding and awe-inspiring wildlife experiences📸

With its diverse ecosystems, some of the best jaguar spotting in the world, and unparalleled opportunities for capturing stunning images, Brazil is a photographer’s paradise, but it's important to go prepared🌿

Here's the gear we're taking:

Cameras: A DSLR or mirrorless camera with fast autofocus is essential for capturing sharp images of jaguars, especially when they are moving through the underbrush. A full-frame camera is recommended for better low-light performance, which is crucial for morning and evening shoots.

Lenses: A telephoto lens (at least 200mm) is necessary to photograph jaguars from a safe distance. A 70-200mm lens is great for general shots, while a 400mm or longer lens is ideal for capturing close-ups of jaguars in action.

Tripods & gimbals: For stability when shooting from a boat or vehicle, a sturdy tripod or gimbal is recommended. Since jaguars often appear near water, a waterproof cover for your gear is also a good idea.

This image, captured by , captures nightfall on what was an unforgettable journey in Kazakhstan📸

The shot was taken in the Bozzhira region, during a night spent camped on the edge of a cliff, where the landscape was as harsh as it was breathtaking.

A finalist in our Travel Photography Competition 2025, here's what judge had to say about the image:

"This image is simple, dramatic and breathtaking. A recognisable landscape captured in a unique weather-dependent moment, perfectly captured. The environment and elements conspired to create an otherworldly experience captured for our viewing pleasure."

recently joined us as a Tour Guide on our Tigers of India Photo Tour and what a trip it was👏

The group enjoyed some incredible sightings, so we caught up with Karolina after to hear her top tips for photographing tigers:

- Patience is everything. Sometimes you’re waiting for hours with nothing happening but when it does, it’s worth it.

- Trusting the guides was key too. They know the tigers, their movements, and when to hold out for something better.

- When it all comes together, it happens fast. You might only get a few seconds as a tiger crosses the road, so staying calm and shooting with what you’ve got is crucial.
