From Survivor Sets to Stress-Free Sunsets: The Story of Go Adventure Travel

Our story didn’t start in a boardroom; it started on the rugged film sets of Survivor South Africa.

Founders Uwe and Linda first met in the Philippines in 2017, but it was during a 2019 season in Samoa and a subsequent cross-country road trip through the USA that the spark for Go Adventure Travel was truly ignited.

Between navigating misleading hotel ads, digging through thousands of emails for booking codes, and the chaos of missed flight connections, they realized something important: travel shouldn’t be a full-time job for the traveler. They began to dream of a service that stripped away the admin and left only the adventure.

They took a leap of faith, leaving the film industry to launch their vision—only for the world to shut down due to COVID-19 just two weeks later. But instead of walking away, they spent those two years fine-tuning every system, vetting every partner, and building the foundation of what they believed travel should be.

In 2022, Go Adventure Travel officially opened its doors. Today, we take the lessons learned from those dusty road trips and remote film sets to ensure that when you travel with us, your only job is to enjoy the journey. We’ve handled the "survivor" part so you don't have to!

Throwback Thursday: A Story from Salzburg

I’m a firm believer that looking back is just as important as looking forward. Remembering the adventures we’ve had fills my heart and fuels my excitement for the ones to come.

This throwback is extra special.

Back in 2021, Uwe and I decided on a very spur-of-the-moment trip to Europe. I was 26 weeks pregnant and had just left a film job that was truly awful. On the flight, Uwe gave me a letter—the first I had ever received from him.

I'll never forget the flood of happiness, love, and excitement I felt when I read those last four words: "Will you marry me?" It was a moment I'll cherish forever.

Later this November, we're going back! We'll be in Salzburg to visit my best friend for a few days, and I'm beyond excited to revisit this special place.
