Raw, unedited stills from the Hero 4 Black on a recent dive at A-Frame. What a beautiful afternoon it was with the sun peering out from the clouds periodically. The water was teeming with life, and an amazing variety of colours and forms.

Join us on an epic tour a part of our fascinating False Bay!

A little snippet of a recent clean up we participated in at Simon's Town Harbour. Ducking down into the murkiness to retrieve litter and bits of fishing gear posing a threat to the marine life in the area.

Thank you for organising πŸ‘Œ

What is this strange creature that we spotted at Cape Point? I thought it was an eel but discovered that it is a fish called the Hagfish...

HagfishΒ (Eptatretus stoutii): Though they resemble eels, hagfish are primitive, jawless fish (Class Myxini) that lack fins and scales. They are deep-sea scavengers known for producing copious amounts of protective slime and are found near the ocean floor.

I'm glad I didn't experience any of that slime 🫟! As for being deep sea scavengers, this one was seen in about 2m deepwater...a really cool sighting πŸ’™

Some days on the Atlantic surprise you β€” the ocean calms, the wind takes a break, and suddenly the visibility opens up like a window. That’s exactly the kind of day we found ourselves freediving the Antipolis wreck.

The Antipolis usually feels like a shadowed giant, but on a day like this it comes alive. We could make out the hull, the scattered steel plates, even the small fish weaving through the rusted framework. Everything looked sharper, quieter, more honest.

No, it's not a floating piece of litter or a weird glob of some organic substance. It's a marine flatworm! Well spotted by dive buddy, Alison, as she searches for cool underwater creatures to take photos of with her new camera ✨
