🌧️ Tough conditions, bucket list achieved 🎯 Wendel joined me all the way from KZN, with the hopes of landing a galjoen—South Africa’s national fish. Despite wet skies and tough conditions, we stuck it out and made it happen. 💪

It wasn’t the biggest galjoen, or even a legal-sized one—but when it’s your first ever, it’s a moment that matters.

🇳🇱 Father-son fishing trips 🌊 Han and his son Lars joined us all the way from the Netherlands, chasing coastal memories with a four-hour shore angling session in Cape Town. After scouting for the perfect spot, we settled at Mac’s—and it didn’t take long for the action to begin!

🎣 Bites turned into hook-ups, and Lars got stuck into a solid galjoen, which was proudly kept for the braai 🍽️. He followed it up with another galjoen, plus consolation catches of klipvis and barbel to round off the session. A proper South African welcome!

🎣 Nicholas got his dream bronzie—finally! After many tries without luck, Nicholas joined me hoping this would be the day. Things started slow, and honestly, it felt like another quietsession. But then… his rod came slack and then the pull.

💪 He battled hard and landed his first bronzie ever—an 80kg beauty. Just when we thought the action was done, he followed up with a beautiful kob that made the trip even more memorable.

This is what it’s all about—patience, grit, and the right spot at the right time.
