There are countless reasons to fall in love with the safari.
The smell of the bush after rain. A herd of elephants crossing the road. A leopard disappearing into the thickets. Wild dogs on the hunt.
And then there’s the lion.
One of Africa’s iconic Big Five, and for many, the sighting they dream of most.
A lioness raising her cubs. Youngsters playing without a care in the world. Coalition males patrolling their territory. The roar of a dominant male rolling across the African bush after sunset. Lying in bed after an evening game drive, listening as lions call through the darkness.
Every sighting is different. Every encounter is different. No two moments are ever the same.
Known by many names across Africa:
• Ngala – Shangaan
• Bhubesi – isiZulu
• Leeu – Afrikaans
• Simba – Swahili
“In the presence of lions, you don’t just watch wildlife—you feel the wild.”
