Traditional bamboo coracles are still widely used in Vietnam, often as far as a mile offshore. They serve as tenders on larger fishing boats or as stand-alone vessels in small fishing villages. Every child raised in a floating village can row almost before they can walk.

Enjoying tasting wine in Nyaung Shwe, Myanmar. The Red Mountain Estate is said to produce the best wines of the country, if not the ONLY wines in the country. All 400,000 plants are imported from France and Spain, and the cool climate and soils allow the winemakers to produce wine in this unlikely location. Currently the vineyard produces Shiraz, Carignan, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouchet.

The first picture is of a young girl riding a water buffalo. These are docile animals, easily domesticated and used as beasts of burden in ASIA.

The second picture is of a Cape buffalo, found in AFRICA. At first glance or viewing one from a vehicle on safari, they may seem docile... However this is an animal whose temperament is not to be tested. Also known as Black Death, the Cape buffalo is said to have killed more big game hunters than any other animal in Africa.

It’s Women’s month and today we honour the Hmong women of Asia. Hmong communities are strictly patriarchal and gender roles are clearly defined and fiercely upheld. This differs vastly from western communities, emphasising how, through travel, we are able to appreciate and respect our differences

Below is a series of images showing how the entrances of the Cu Chi Tunnels were designed. The key was a tight fit, and well hidden from an enemy.
