No matter who you are - diplomat, wine enthusiastic, student, family, or a group of friends - foreign or local - Sally, who has been conducting tours since 2007 in French and in English, will put her vast local knowledge and experience into ensuring that you discover not only the exquisite beauty of the Cape and its Winelands, but that you also are afforded the opportunity of discovering 'anoth
er South Africa'. She previously worked for NGO's supporting human rights, people with psychological needs, conflict resolution, as well as teaching high school pupils in leafy suburbs and informal settlements. She lived alongside the transition to a democracy in 1994. She is still passionate about engaging with communities and bridging social and geographical divides. Always a visionary, when she stopped teaching at The French School, she decided to invest her energy in tourism as she saw it as being one of the fastest growing industries which had the capacity to empower and employ many South Africans. She invites you to share a Cultural Day which includes District Six, Langa and Woodstock. In Langa township, you will be accompanied by resident guide Zamile Hleli, learning, not only about the effects of Influx Control, the Pass Laws ,and Migrant Labour, but where you will also be treated to a delicious meal at her friend Nomonde Siyaka's home cm restaurant while being entertained by Langa's vibrant traditional musicians. So she wasted no time in graduating with her Diploma of Wine from the Cape Wine Academy in Stellenbosch in 2011. She has guided wine lovers, wine professionals, viticultural students, and journalists. She suggests that you spend two or three days (or more) exploring our extensive winelands destinations. One day is not nearly enough to appreciate the huge diversity of our world class and site specific wines. Gourmet food and wine pairings in consultation with respective chefs and winemakers, can be arranged well in advance. Accommodation advice and reservations can be made on request.
