African Travel Desk didn't start with a big investment or a detailed business plan.
It started with a passion for travel and a genuine love for Southern Africa and the outdoors.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping travellers from around the world experience destinations that I know and love—from watching the sunrise over Table Mountain to hearing lions roar on safari and discovering hidden places that most visitors never get to see.

Along the way, I've learned that booking a holiday is about far more than flights and hotels. It's about understanding what makes each traveller excited. Some want adventure. Others want luxury. Some dream of seeing wildlife for the first time, while others simply want to slow down with a glass of wine overlooking the mountains.

No two trips should ever be the same.
That's why I've always believed in taking the time to listen first, and then creating an itinerary that genuinely fits the person behind the enquiry.

🇿🇦 South Africa travel tip: Don’t try to do everything.

One of the easiest mistakes to make when planning a trip to South Africa is looking at the map and thinking:

“Cape Town, safari, Garden Route, Johannesburg, Durban, maybe the Drakensberg… we’ve got 10 days.” 😅

South Africa is BIG!.

And some of the best parts of travelling here aren’t the things you rush between — they’re the long lunch at a wine farm, stopping somewhere completely unplanned along the Garden Route, watching the sunset with nowhere else to be, or spending an extra night on safari because you’re still waiting to see that leopard.

For a first trip, doing fewer places properly almost always beats trying to tick off the whole country.

Slow it down. Leave some space in the itinerary.

South Africa isn’t going anywhere. 😉
