The whales are back so here are a few ways that you might see them in the water. On a tour to of The Cape Peninsula yesterday we saw several possible whales but sometimes it's not as easy as you think to decide, "is it or isn't it. After studying these whale movements I certainly think we saw one "Logging" in False Bay.

I believe the killing of Cecil the lion was a crime, with absolutely no justification what so ever but let’s not kid ourselves the privileged, rich hunter will hire a clever lawyer and get away with it. However even if he does escape conviction he should be in no doubt that he is guilty of a moral crime. Currently he seems more concerned with hiding away, protecting his business and apologising to his patients. He wrote I quote: "As you may have already heard, I have been in the news over the last few days for reasons that have nothing to do with my profession or the care I provide for you". Who is he now kidding, who does he think pay’s for his senseless slaughter? Because of his secrecy about his hunting his patients unknowingly helped finance his hobby. Furthermore as a doctor he understands pain so without a doubt he knows just how much pain and suffering he has not only caused Cecil but probably many other animals too.
I sincerely hope that his patients now show their displeasure with him by leaving his practice in their droves. If his funds are diminished at least other innocent wildlife may be saved a similar fate to Cecil. Tragically Cecil cannot even rest in peace but only in pieces, after he was butchered and dismembered in preparation for the trophy cabinet.
I ask myself, when will this hunting sickness end? Probably never and the saga goes on as I now hear that Cecil's brother Jericho has also been shot and killed by another rich hunter.
These are only my personal thoughts but if you agree with anything that I’ve written then you should also sign the petition (that is now close to 1 million) to help end this madness and bring the guilty to justice.

This small antelope known as a Cape Grysbok had been living in the small patch of garden just below our balcony. Rather than try to catch her the wildlife rangers made an obvious hole in the fence surrounding our complex to enable/encourage her to return back in to the adjacent nature reserve. It appears to have worked not seen her for 3 days.
