🌸⛵ September and the arrival of spring have also brought back an early summer rendition of the Cape southeaster gales — not a particularly welcome weather phenomenon at the best of times.

Gale-force winds are not pleasant accompaniments to ocean cruises, unfortunately, and at Waterfront Charters we will always place safety and guest comfort above all other considerations.

If we cancel any cruise, guests can naturally rebook for another time — hopefully wind-free — without any penalty whatsoever. Safety first, always.

🌙✨ The heavens are aligned, putting us here on earth in a prime position to witness not one, but two eclipses in quick succession: both a solar and lunar eclipse. We missed the solar event down south, but for those up early, the lunar eclipse made for good viewing and great photo-ops today.

Talking about things celestial is a reminder that we have our own Eclipse here at , named in accordance for our penchant for otherworldly nomenclature for our vessels.

Our Eclipse is a beautiful luxury motor catamaran – 13 metres in hull length – and she defines that word ‘luxurious’. We’re thrilled to announce that a brand-new powered catamaran is joining our fleet. ⛵️🏆 This week sees the commencement of the Cup in Table Bay. For those not in the know, this is a prestigious regatta featuring no less than 17 sailing clubs from around South Africa, as well as two from neighbours Namibia. It’s a competitive spectacle that thrills participants and observers alike, and it judged and officiated to the highest yachting standards.

🌊⛵️ The City of Cape Town is the Title Sponsor, and we are proud to announce that are Gold Tier Sponsors: as sailors ourselves we are extremely happy to be involved in this Cape Town premier event. Our RIBs are support boats and our luxury Yacht Luna will be on the courses hosting members of the organising team and we are looking forward to seeing some exceptional sailing in this world-class regatta.

Sometimes it’s difficult to avoid a little hyperbole when describing a specific Waterfront Charters experience… but we’ll do our best to stick to the facts. 😉 Once you’ve experienced it for yourself, you can add the appropriate adjectives!
